The 15 is way more powerful then the 16. 15 beats straight up 1/4 mile everytime. MPG 16, Comfort 16 ,Goodies 16

Same engine and transmission as your truck. Thats where my complaints are. Piece of crap engine, erratic transmission. But nobody put a gun to my head and made me buy it, so nobody to blame but myself. But at least I'm willing to admit it. Most of the other fanboys just can't bring themselves to admit the "redesign" was a flop.

I guess you didn't get the humor in my post. I'm telling him to keep the '15, but seems like the sarcasm on that one went right over your head.

    LMAO

I`m not surprised but majority of the comments thus far on this thread made up of people that do not even own a 3rd Gen.

    Op

Pay no attention to the trolls and crybabies and buy what you like, over 2100 miles on mine and no problems.

Well.... Okay... I was just pulling your leg. I hope you realize that this is how all the new cars are being made. That "erratic" transmission is designed(whether or not it works) to be as fuel efficient as possible. Same with the "piece of crap engine", which I personally find quite nice. Toyota is getting so much pressure from EPA to be more efficient(told to me by neighbor who is GM at toyo dealership) that they have to design the cars this way. Yes I believe they could have taken time with the redesign but after 10 years of the same body, people just wanted new eye candy. Honestly I would never buy a first year model, but I had no choice, my landcuiser was totaled and I needed a new car. I could either pay 32 for a 2015 or a little more for the 2016 offroad. I have had a great experience with my Tacoma, but I'm sorry you haven't. I have a feeling that the last great generation of vehicles have already been put out of production. EPA has everyone by the gonads to be more efficient(which may not necessarily be a bad thing, idk).

1 inch deeper! Oh my! Smaller displacement engine that is sluggish off the line with less torque and had yet to prove its reliability compared to 1gr, 15 transmission was built for a v8 not a odd shifting rpm hunting low fluid 6 spd in 16, tech 16 wins, mph 16 wins by 1-2 (check fuelly), looks are subjective. Each gen has its points, but let's not exaggerate the third gen in comparison to gen 2.

Exactly, people who are content with their trucks aren't going to make posts praising it. Also, I feel a percentage of the third gen members are just people with lemons who make accounts to complain.

Well maybe I should make a fuelly because my mpg ranges from 22-25. I think that is better than the previous gen....

    Wrong.

What I'm saying in the post of mine you quoted is, with the exception of you, all those who said "no" (meaning he should keep his '15) DON'T even own a '16.

He wanted opionins of those who went from a 2nd gen to '16... No one who had replied at that point who said no owns a '16...except you.

    Clear as mud now?

Working for Toyota Proper, they had 1 reason to make the major model change.... it had been sooooo long the sales were slowing down (for the first time), even though the chevy flopped IMO, Toyota had to answer. So they said here, here is nice off-road vehicle. you have to remember, we're on tacomaworld for a reason, we love these trucks, want to mod them, and see what they can do. So to us, there are performance differences yes... but to 80% of the drivers of tacomas who barely see dirt, the new truck is awesome.
My commute to work, traveling for work, or going to run errands, I would love to have a new one seeing that is 95% of my driving.

In your case, what type of driving do you do and is it a smart financial choice? because if you commute and barely see dirt, you may like the new 16's

Really ???? I`d love to see this.

And please don`t repost the video that the clowns did where they ran a manual shift 2nd Gen against a 3rd Gen auto in the 1/8 mile.

Keep the 2015 and then get a 2018 when they come out. I almost drank the koolaid myself. The 2016's are nice looking trucks.

Nah, 2nd Gen looks sucks, Interior sucks, bed looks like a toy compared (one 1" adds up on a square foot basis) to mine on a side by side comparison to my friend's 2nd gen.
I completely bypassed the 2nd and bought a Tundra instead.
Look at the specs the 3rd has more horse power better response if you use ect or S mode and shift manually It'll slap the dog off the 2nd gen. But if you want to save gas use as intended w/o the ect. I get 23mpg on a truck?? Hell yea it's better and I wouldn't change s thing.
But you can live in denial if you choose to do so, your choice.
