I don't think I do. I used to play Counter Strike when it first came out, but that was what? 15 - 16 years ago? I'd be rather surprised if I still had one with them.

For those of you that have never seen the back of my truck, the little one near driver side is the BNC connector and is currently connected to my 800MHz handheld scanner, the middle is a 2ft CB Firestik that I've been wanting to try out (I still have to tune it), and the antenna on the passenger corner is my 2m\70cm antenna (I can replace the dual band to a tri-band antenna if I want to).

Regarding the BNC connector (currently the small antenna, which is an 800MHz scanner antenna, on the driver side), it is basically a "pigtail" that ends up inside the cab and is right next to me. It is long enough to extend outside the vehicle as well, if needed!!! I did this so I have quite a few options for different antenna setups AND different handhelds. Most setups will have to be done when the truck is stationary because a BNC connector is NOT built for punishment with bigger antennas connected to it!!! But, it is there if needed!

Regarding the 2ft CB Firestik (the antenna in the middle), I don't expect to get a very good SWR tuning due to the fact that a good portion of the antenna is reflecting from the cab!!! I got sick of putting up and taking down my 4ft antenna because of the damn carport ceiling!

Regarding the far right antenna, that L-bracket mount is actually for a CB, but I drilled the hole out just a bit larger to accommodate a SO-239 barrel adapter for various HAM antenna setups. This is mainly for my 2m Yaesu FT-1900R mobile, but, IF needed, I have the cable setup so that I can connect a different radio to it!!! That is a very, very rare occasion though!!!

Anyways, just to give some possible ideas for your setups!!!

    Happy Wheel'n people

What's the average Ham unit inside the cab take up in terms of space? Is it...reasonable to run a Ham and CB in the cab? I mean the 2nd gen is a mile larger than the first gen trucks similar to yours but it still feels cramped for good space...

Denny, for a CB, I would get the Midland 75-822 because you can easily convert from a "mobile" to a handheld!!! Almost NO space taken up!!! You just need to make sure to have a cig lighter port available for the mobile aspect of it. Also, since it is basically a handheld, it will output only about 2watts max compared to the actual CB max legal limit of 4watts! All the handhelds that I have ever measured only outputted about 2watts max and I believe to save\conserve battery power!!!??? 2watts is NOT too big of a difference, but you will still get a bit more range because of it. Anyways, you can have, and I HIGHLY recommend it, an outside CB antenna!!! For HAM, you can do the same\similar setup!

To answer your question a bit more direct, not TOO crowded because the mobiles I have, are actually fairly small in size!

I hope the picture comes out fine so you can somewhat see my internal setup. The mobile just above that LCD clock is my COBRA 19 Ultra iii CB unit and the mobile just above it is my Yaesu FT-1900R 2m HAM.IMG_20160423_222915.jpg

I've actually read a few good reviews about them, but for the price they're at my vote would go to OME Dakars.

Good morning Bryan and everyone!:pccoffee::fistbump:

@ODNAREM Ron, you feeling much better bro? :fingerscrossed::thumbsup:

Yeah, I took out the ashtray since I don't smoke and the COBRA CB fit PERFECTLY in that spot (i.e. the size of the ashtray)! I still have the cig lighter for anyone who needs the pyro action, LOL!!!:D:rasta: There was very light modding to the center bezel so the CB fit further back, but other than that, it fits perfectly in that spot! When the shifter is in drive, the CB is fully exposed and easy to see!!!

For the 2m mobile HAM unit, there was an empty spot\tray that was great to hold little things\papers\change, but decided to take it out and put the HAM there! There is a very custom bracket and faceplate I had to make for the HAM mobile. I do miss that empty tray though as it came in handy, LOL.
