I was going to do that. The airflow GB brings the price down enough that I am just going with them. It'll be a little less of a headache since it's made for the 2nd Gen.

Next time. Tap the seal in like 1/8". Then use the cv axle itself to push it back into the tube where it needs to go gently.

Alright, new seal ordered and it will be here Thursday. I'll get it in Friday night. I have my camera battery charging this time around to take a few pictures of the process.

Question, I have to get to Lusk this weekend. I can't wait any longer. Its about 2.5 hours to my location, so of which is two track.

I am installing the new seal Friday night and I doubt I will run into problems again but you never know. If it starts leaking I wont put it in 4WD without topping off the gear oil. Since in 2wd the diff is mute, is there any reason to be wary of the wheels freespinning with the possibility of low diff fluid?

I believe the answer is no, other than a mess, but you never know.

It'll be fine. Even if it leaks it won't dump all the oil. My seal was bad for weeks before the Epic and it dumped a lot out and i drove the whole first leg fine.

If you're interested in the airflow unit I got mine from a place called ok4wd.com, even after ups lost it they sent me a new one right away was like 350 usd. Sadly your situation got me to get the snorkel ASAP love the way it turned out and have not had a single issue since air filters are clean and minty

Also put the new seal in. We let the CV do the work this time. Time will tell if it holds or not haha. Took us about 2 hours, the gf did most of the work this time around. I think she got the bug :D.

The install can be frustrating. Do yourself a favor the hardware for the head bracket Sucks I ended up using a 1" self tapper on the a pillar... drill a small pilot hole through the first layer of metal then fire the self tapper in till it grabs the second layer it won't be entering the cab. I also fired some silicone in the holes and on the bottom of the bracket for water resistance.

I was going to use double sided tape or something similar. Someone suggested it in this thread and apparently holds it well. If it doesn't I'll give your method a try.

Axle seal is holding so far. We loaded the bed with various crap around the house and did a dump run. One of the guys working there gave us a hand and he said "I see your truck all over town. Bad ass rig man". So proud. BabyT is making friends while I am at school.

The gal and I decided to make a movie of our summer. Going to be using a XA10 and gopros to film most of it. Toads, Trucks, and Trips all in one haha. Should be a fun project for the two of us.
