or run spacers like the OP did. looks pretty nice. I wanna try it for my rims, but I don't think it'll look as good on the lighter/matte bronze :(

I think all of those rims look better with no cap and just the black wheel bearing cap underneath showing.

    Hello,

I have a 2016 TRD Sport, and I was wondering if anyone with a SR-5 would be interested in swapping grills?

Ok guys I just read a thread about a longtime devoted 3 x Tacoma owner who just traded in his 16' TRD Sport 4x4 because it had endless and repeated problems. So bad he said he'd never buy another Toyota. The problems are similar to everyone elses on TW. I'm on the fence with selling my 12' and buying a 16' What is the situation with you guys out here?! Anyone with high miles yet? Reported problems?

    Here's the post:

Nate...imho I would wait till the 17's come out. Sure, you might get lucky with a 16 and have no issues, but I think 1st year models always have kinks that need worked out. If money is burning a hole in your pocket by all means...jump ship...:D

Despite owning and loving my 3rd gen, I would agree with @squint0241 and wait until next year. I don't particularly have high mileage but enough to give you some feedback. I've had mine since Halloween and currently have 6500 miles. I absolutely love it, however, my truck does display the majority of issues that have been talked about on TW ie: low ATF, u-joints dry, window seal defective. In fact, I brought it in to Motor Imports this morning for a service and I'm getting these issues looked at. Major or minor, they are still stuff that the new trucks shouldn't have had to begin with but it is what it is.

With that being said, I have no regrets buying the first year of the 3rd gen but if you're in no rush I'd say wait it out.

I got the rear window moldings done at Servco they are much better now you can stick you finger in the gap no longer with out pulling it down.

I had my rear window moldings redone as well. Had the ATF and u-joints checked and those were fine. Haven't had issues so far and I'm at 2000 miles. Front suspension has been replaced with OME 885 and the ride seems about the same, better on the small bumpy stuff so far.

My buddy's sport model did have issues. Had an ATF temp indication on the dash then the motor cut out. Left him powerless on an intersection but luckily he was able to roll to a safe spot with the momentum. Had it checked and it was the crank shaft position sensor. It's been replaced and so far no problems. I guess it's hit or miss but not a problem new vehicles should be having...
