Did a little work today on my crawl box mount and belly skid. Had to stop short of finishing as I didn't have any tube couplers or flanges for the frame mounts.

A fresh cutoff wheel works just fine if you take your time. Use a sawzall to get into the corners.

Will you be running a support off the rear?

There will be supports off the back to both frame rails. I didn't think about flanges, so I couldn't make the rear supports without trapping the skid in place. So this will do for the weekend.

I bought the 180 bend off of ebay. :D

eBay is my best friend when I'm either lazy or not in the mood. I frequently order gussets from them or Amazon

Nice trailer build, and really nice looking welds.

A few questions. I can't see any suspension, is there any and what kind? Would you explain the plug in the axle 'for fluids'? And also the sections of tubing welded top and bottom. Are the u-bolts hardware store variety or ones specifically made for trailer axles? Hardware variety are not sufficient for that sort of load and service use.

Thanks, as mentioned it has trailer leafs and hardware as well as spindles and hubs. All purchased from northern tool. The sections of tube on top of the axle as well as the full plug are purely aesthetic. It's an old Toyota axle fill plug to basically mimic a scale axle.

What's the rough cost on all the steel? I've been thinking of building my own trailer for my tent and other camping accessories

We used about 3 24' sticks of 2x2 .120 for the main shape and 12' 2x2 .250 for the tounge and axle. It will depend on your prices. I can get 2x2 .120 as cheap as $30 per stick and sometimes it's around $52 per stick.

I wish steel was that cheap around me. I'm not a shop though so pricing is always on the high side for me.

Yup! Saw the axles in the dark of one of the photos. What is the trailer weight empty and loaded?
