Just unbolt the reservoir and clean it out. IIRC, there's two bolts in back, and a third you have to access from a hole in the pulley. Reservoir pulls straight up and then just disconnect the return line. I sprayed it with brake cleaner or something to clean it out, then ran some fresh ATF to test how well it flowed.

So I've been doing some thinking and I'm leaning toward an entire different approach to my rear set up. I'm still in the process in researching and pricing everything but I figure I keep you guys in the loop. It will take time to collect the parts but it will be worth it at the end. This truck will be a real fun truck to drive once it's done.

Maybe so. Still looking into it. Trailing arms are going to need to be custom because of my cab and keeping the same wheel base.

I don't know much about trailing arms, but building and setting up a 3 link out of DOM wouldn't be too hard for you to knock out. Is the main point of trailing arms to mount the shock on the arm rather than the axle?

3 link would be a fast and cheap way for links but I want to go with trailing arms and 4 link. What made me decide was when I went out east I found a bunch of dirt roads I can take the truck to. So I'm not limited to the mountains. Now it's just educating myself on the set up. Dylan is playing a big part. So it's going to be a fun project.

I think Ray may have crossed that line where he just wouldn't know what to do with himself if he had a "finished" truck :D

I've been having a ping sound and Dylan and I where troubleshooting it and came up with the carrier bearing. So I went to replace it today and when I went to remove the housing and rubber part of the bearing the hole thing just came off. The bearing is still good and it was just not seated on the shaft giving it the play in the bearing. When you put your foot on the brake and press the gas the torque would cause the shaft to bounce in the bearing and cause a ping on the drive shaft. The new bearing is in and no sound yet. I still want to go test it on loose ground to let the tires give a little. I tested it in the garage so the tires grip pretty good.

I pulled the whole shaft out because it was easier to take apart.

I had to pry this tab up to remove the nut. The nut was a 24mm.

I had an old motor mount that I used to put in the vise instead of putting the drive shaft in the vise.

This is where the whole bearing came off in one piece.

I torqued the nut to 134 to press the bearing on and loosened it and retorqued it to 51. I still had to tighten it a little more to line it up so I can smash back down that one part of the nut.
