Never done any of the Whiskey races. Down the road to Skull Valley and back can't be fun. The course has been changed this year, be interesting how the conga line is.

I love riding in Prescott otherwise.

I've enjoyed the AES (Arizona Endurance Series) events so far. The entry fee ($0, sometimes a 6-pack) is real easy, wild/challenging/random courses on GPS, small crowd.

Sounds like Tod has pissed alot of locals off. I did the 24 hrs in the old Pueblo 6 years in a row and the fees would go up every year. Les locals every year and more out-of-towners that wold be willing to pay the higher fees. Use to be a weekend of drinking and eating with some riding not anymore. Iam glad I was part of it during the fun years.

I have followed the whiskey 30 trails before but not the 50. And you are right. The 25 mile loop down to skull valley is not fun at all on the way up. Down would be fun for the first 3 miles but after that it would get old real quick.

I would love to get into it more. Unfortunately for the bike that I have, I feel I have maxed out its capability. I ride once every couple of weeks but not nearly enough for the 50.

I've done all of his events over the years since 1999. I enjoyed the squealer and flight much better. Not pissed at todd just didn't fell a good return on investment

Funnest race I ever did was the first Dirty Bunny century. Entry fee was a six pack of micro brew. 5 mile loop at Fantasy island (bunny loop). First rider to 100 wins. 20 to 23 minute lap times. Had a cookie every 2 to 3 laps and a beer every 5 laps. Took 3rd with 75 miles at the end. It was a great party afterwards with burritos, brats,BBQ chicken. Everybody was grilling and shearing food. Stayed there drinking it up till dark.

I have done the Antelope Peak Challenge, Prescott mini-MonsterCross, and Kentucky Camp. All in the first year I was in AZ.

APC was a loooooong day. Pushed the pace a little to hard, then bonked, slowly HAB'd out of some big washes (bloodsucker wash is aptly named). Ran out of water 10 miles from the finish and finally finished after dark.

Prescott was my first ride there. Started at Costco and went straight to the Dells. I was scared that the full 60ish miles was going to be like that. But then it started to open up. Going down Wolverton and getting water at White Spar was beyond refreshing. Good, because crossing Spruce Mtn sucked.

Kentucky Camp was neat, but I was loosing fitness and riding on SS (bad combo). Long day, lots of dirt road, lots of climbing. Riding the grass fields was neat.

I want to get back to some of them. Especially the Coconino 300 multi-day backpacking loop (Flagstaff-Sedona-Mingus-Williams-Flag). Prescott again, Flagstaff (Aspen Asphyxiation), Sedona Big Friggen Loop, Picketpost, and some of the past events (Dirty Casner Century, Kaibab)

1x10 with a Oneup "hack" will actually get you pretty close at a fraction of the cost.

He's got a new one this year in Carson City, NV. Something like 50 miles and 7k feet of climbing, going to be a punch in the nuts. Some of the sections of trail are actually pretty rowdy.

I did the flight of the pigs a few times and always had a good time.

Another one I did was the Enchillada Buffet in Austin, TX. 70+ miles in a loop across town linking together 5 different trail systems of the extra-technical variety and NOT-skipping the steepest road climbs available. Pretty awesome to cruise thru town in a pack of 70-80 mountain bikes before/at dawn, then the fast locals putting the hammer down on Barton Creek Greenbelt.

These bikes are the shit! Well worth any wait, that's for sure. Best bang for the buck too. I was at their office in Reno Friday scoping out the new Jeffsy.

My dream bike ala 2010. 68* head angle and 120mm fork. Only thing I'd change now is to go 27.5
