Are you inquiring about my product or the one shown in this picture?

Im a bit confused as to how a failed battery mount lead to a hood latch failure. Any more info?

Not sure was kinda breezing thru the thread. ...obviously if you have a solution I would like to support you w my biz... no commitments yet just stumbled on this potential solution to the devastation wreaked by my battery in my 07 considering frame mount too like @12TRDTacoma hey I have a DC JBL can I stuff the battery behind the drivers rear seat?

Haha. No worries man. The battery tray you linked to is definitely not my product. I like to think that my passenger side battery tray is more sturdy than the stock location... simply because the factory battery tray is nothing but a large clamp, sandwiching the battery between the fender and the tie down. Not a bad design. In fact, my drivers side tray mimics that exactly. My passenger side tray, however, mounts via 5 bolts to the side and bottom fender. The battery then sits inside this mount and is clamped down. It's pretty secure.

One caveat... The factory location was specifically designed to hold a battery. The passenger side location, where my battery tray mounts, was not. I have done everything in my power to make sure it is structurally sound. I have thoroughly tested it with a 60 lb Odyssey battery. I have vigorously wheeled my rig with this system is place. I have never had a complaint of stress failure and I have never experienced it myself. But... I suppose anything can be broken with enough abuse. As with any aftermarket product, use at your own risk.

What's your opinion on having a quick disconnect like power poles to make installing/removing batteries easier? Would those be an effective battery cutoff or is there another product you'd recommend?

I'm planning to use the ibs but I'd like to be able to safely run one battery when i want and don't want the bare disconnected terminals bouncing around.

HeliMedic makes a dual battery tray for the 2nd Gen. Places both batteries in the original locations. See my post/picture above. I will have more pics before and after the install once the tray is back from powder coating.

It depends on what you're after. Sure you could plug in a battery using powerpoles and disconnect it manually when you don't want it. I would cap off the powerpole connectors though, and fuse the cable too. But, you could also run a high amperage switch like the Blue Sea 6006 or 6007 to switch between battery banks...

OR! You could install one of my systems that automatically connects and disconnects the batteries when there is a charge or draw (respectively). My systems also have a manual override switch. It really is the best of both worlds.

Edited... Just realized you bought one of my trays a while back. If you want the means to shut off one, or both of your batteries, the Blue Sea 6007 is what you want.

There is now a picture of a test fitting on the Op's first post on this thread. The dual tray was developed after the start of the thread.
Yes. It's going to be one heck of a setup. I can't wait to get it installed!

I do. I make a system for your truck. Here is a crude picture of the first install. There is nothing to move. This tray is designed for two Group 35 AGM batteries. It is specifically designed to mount the ML-ACR to the tie down.

And here is a pic of how it wires up.

And this setup has the ordeal where truck ones off one battery and accessories run off the other batter but it can self jump itself if the truck battery dies correct?

That is correct. You will have a designated starting battery and then an auxiliary battery for all your accessories. While the vehicle is running, both batteries will be charging via the alternator. When the vehicle is off and you are drawing on the aux battery, the relay will separate the two batteries so that your starting battery remains fresh. If for some reason you kill your starting battery, you can jump yourself from the aux by the flip of a switch.
