Okay. Thanks again. Now I know how many Coates for me to apply. What do you think about the rest bumper on the trd off road would look black. My truck with chrome end caps.

Personally I would black them out with plasti dip and if you don't like it peel it off and leave it chrome

It would look nice in line with your wheel flares and you definitly would be going more towards the blackout package, it should hold up pretty well. Time will definitely tell because chrome is the hardest surface to keep paint on because it's just so smooth and there's no micro texture for the paint to bite into

Has anyone tried removing plastidip off thier off road grill? I would imagine its not as easy to pull off as one would hope with the design of the grill.

Im debating on doing this, but truly dont mind the stock grill.

If you do it, I would definitely suggest putting it on thick 7 to 8 to 9 codes. The Thicker it is the easier it is to get off

I'm just waiting for a customer to get his 1960 Eldorado out of my shop, then I'll be able to dip my grill and emblems, and put the vinyl letters in my tail gate! Waiting for people is the worst!

Why do you have to wait on him to do your vinyl letters and dippin' ? I'm doing my emblems tomorrow on my new truck with the plasti dip. Already did the vinyl letters on tailgate, dash and door sill protectors

Mostly just because I like working in my shop. It also gets awfully windy where I am and I don't want dust and junk to blow into my dip when wet.

So, which brand of plastidip is best in terms of color matching, black to the black on our trucks, and white to my super white? Any difference in durability? and how close is the glossifier to the wax finish of the paint?

Did you take the grille off the truck before you dipped it.

It was my first plasti dip. I used a rattle can. I took the grill off rather than taping everything off. It looks pretty good but It could have used several more coats after examining it in the daylight this morning. I put at least 7 or 8 coats on but it was already dark when I got started so I was doing it in the garage under florescent lighting and I thought I had done enough. I'll leave it as is for now and make sure to go heavier when it needs to be redone.

On a side note the plastic tabs on the grill and the trim ring are ridiculously fragile, two broke on me so be careful if you take the grill off.
