My mason bees have now all emerged and they filled back in an additional 3 boxes so I have 6 in total filled up for next year

Most had 2-3 ears iirc. Around 7-9" each. It was the best stand of corn I've grown. I walked through it when it was tassled out and shook the plants to release all the pollen. Very few of the ears weren't completely full.

 don't remind me :annoyed: stoopid bees are destroying my arbor  why have a box for them? What purpose do the bees serve? I've never seen the ones here around any flowers :notsure:

ok, nevermind.... I'll build them a nest so maybe they'll leave my arbor alone.....

We finally planted our garden last weekend. Maters, peppers, cukes, squash, zucchini, broccoli, cauliflower, onions, and celery. Also got my rainwater "system" up and running (330 gallon tote collects from roof, pump to two 55 gallon drums on stands at garden, water with a hose). Sure beats carrying 30 gallons to the garden every afternoon in buckets.KIMG0005.jpg

Built this few weeks ago, and can't wait to get out of the 'burbs so we can have a real garden.

    image.jpg

We have tomatoes, bell peppers, jalapeños, squash, zucchini, onions, and watermelon :D

Nothing wrong with a burb garden. When I was renting an apartment it was ground floor, so I dug up the yard right next to the steps and put in a few tomato plants and peas, lol.

Nice! We have a HUGE lot and I could easily plant a real garden, but we will be selling hopefully within a year and decided against it. I grew up in deep east Texas out in the country where my nearest neighbor was multiple miles away, so living in the DFW metroplex drives me nuts :goingcrazy:

Yeah, that was our first house for us. We bought it as a flip, so I just had a pair of garden beds in the back yard. When we bought the new house the plan was to be there for a while, so I went crazy and put garden beds everywhere, lol.

Ye Olde Apartment- the peas are visible on the left of the door. I may also have built a screen door into my apartment and not mentioned it to the landlord :anonymous:
