    I'm starting to see frame notching in my future. I bought 2.5 14s. Swapping to Chevy 63s. I feel the same way about spacers.

    I still cannot get on board with 63s. Maybe its the Chevy part or maybe its because I dropped 800$ on a custom Deaver pack a few years ago.

    If i really wanted to go full crawler and not expo, i would flatbed and do 14s. I had a set of 2.5 14s on my floor but I scrapped the project and went this route. Im very happy with the way the truck performs.

    Im watching these crawlboxes like :popcorn: :drool:

    We will see once the truck is paid off and i have a DD. Im on that 10 year plan and 9 to go. :)

    Best mod hands down. I have about 20k miles on duals as my truck was a DD its whole life up until last spring. If built another truck i would put a crawler in it before suspension work and tires.

    I had a set of King 2.5 14s with pbr on this site for 2 weeks and no one jumped. I had them listed well under half the value as well.

    Sometimes shit just doesnt move.

    Made some progress on the crawl box support and belly skid this weekend. Had to stop when I realized I needed tube couplers for the rear supports. Having to pull the exhaust to get the skid out doesn't sound like fun.

    I'm also a bit peeved to see a leak between the crawl box rear adapter plate and the transfer case. I did not RTV that joint, as I thought there shouldn't be any fluid coming out the back of the crawl box. Was I mistaken?

    Yup every joint needs RTV. Thats also why u need to recheck levels after a few miles, the gap between the crawl box and the adapter fills once fluid pumps through the bearing, but there's no return path.

    I could never get mine to seal right with RTV or paper gaskets, i now only use permatex "the Right stuff". That stuffs awesome.

    Did you JB weld the bolt holes on the trans mount? Fluid will leak out of there as well as gear lube will fill up the rear of the trans housing.


    You will have the cases out a few more times don't worry!!

    I can and will wheel with the leak. It's not horrible, just a pain.

    I did seal the holes in the transmission bell housing, but I didn't seal the tcase to the crawl box adapter. With the limited time I have between now and the next wheeling trip I'll be running with the leak. It's not the end of the world.

    All that makes the atlas look better and better.

    I'm seeing a short shifter in my future. I don't know that the crawl box shifter will fit without it

    It certainly makes life easier. I moved the shifter to the opposite side of the mount and gained a quarter inch, just enough to clear the crawlbox knob. @HomerTaco moved his even further over for his forest of sticks coming out of the stock location.
