I have outlined the necessary steps to install a Blackhawk Serpa Holster into your 3rd Gen Tacoma.

Pease know your local laws about mounting a firearm in your vehicle, and consider all requirements to properly, and safely handle a firearm. I take no responsibility for any of your actions, this mod is purely for educational purposed only!

    Tools Needed
    - 13/64 Drill Bit
    - Drill
    - Center Punch
    - #2 Phillips Screwdriver
    - Utility Knife

    Steps

Find the Proper Mounting Location that suites You
    1. Remove backing from Blackhawk Serpa Holster.

    2. Sit in truck with seat in your normal driving position and adjust the angle of the handgun in the holster until you find a comfortable position/angle that allows your to safely remove the handgun from the holster.

    3. Once you have found a suitable location for the handgun take your right hand and firmly press into the holster until the threaded metal studs on the back of the holster mark the plastic seat trim piece.

Remove the Plastic Trim Piece from the Seat
    1. Slide the Drivers seat completely forward.

    2. Remove the lumbar adjustment knob by firmly pulling away from the seat.

    3. Remove the screw on the holds the trim piece to the seat. This is located on the back of the seat and is hidden by some fabric.

    4. Pull back and clockwise on the trim piece to remove it from the seat tab.

    5. Pull out to remove from the mid seat mounting clip.

    6. Slide the trim piece forward towards the pedals to remove from the seat.

Mounting the Holster to the Seat Trim Piece
    1. Eyeball the center of the marks made earlier when pressing the holster into the trim piece, and mark with a center punch.

    2. Drill the three holes with a 13/64" drill bit.

    3. If your holes happen to go threw any of the reinforcement extrusions on the back of the trim piece take a utility knife and remove just enough so that the holster screws can sit flush to the trim piece.

    4. Align the threaded mounting studs on the back of the holster with the holes just drilled into the seat trim piece and tighten the screws.

Repeat the steps outlined earlier in reverse to reinstall the trim piece.

    Your DONE!!!

Here are some More Views of the Completed Project!!

Awesome, I'm thinking of getting a 9mm threaded barrel and mags for my M&P40 and doing a form 1 suppressor.

That would take care of any "road rage," unless the other guy also carries a gun. = Guys that feel the "need to carry" in their vehicle scare the hell out of me.

So you don't feel the need to protect yourself and your family from an armed robber? Guys that don't feel the need to protect themselves scare the hell out of me and worries me for our future society.

Youve obviously never driven with your gun digging into your side the entire drive. Any responsible gun owner would never pull a gun over a simple "road rage" incident. A person that would pull a gun over road rage is the same person that would pull a baseball bat or knife. Your life is not in danger over a simple case of road rage.

I will take California for $1000 Trebek.

My guns stay in my home (where I feel they belong), break into my home, good chance I'll shoot. == Driving my vehicle & out in public, I feel no need to carry / have a gun. If nobody carried a gun, then nobody would need to carry a gun. = I don't think our "founding fathers" meant every Tom, Dick & Harry should be carrying a gun every place they went. It only takes one word to set some people off, way too many crazy people carrying guns. 98.6 & a heart beat gets you a carry permit here in FL. I understand TX. is about the same. = If I know somebody has a gun on them, (even my best friends) I'm gone. That's all I have to say, this is a Tacoma forum. = I'm not getting into a pissing contest about this.

I'm going to step away from this thread, because it's about to go wild.

Like I posted in the other thread OP, nice setup and I will be doing this in my 2015.

That's the wonderful part about CCW here in Florida. You don't need to know who else is carrying because it's concealed and only my business.

It dosent take another person with a another gun to threaten my life. Person committing a crime with a gun is already breaking the law and therefore not really worried if they are legally carrying or not (or legally owning). Take a away his gun and they will still act with another weapon. = LET THE DICK SWINGING COMMENCE!

Great mod really well thought out! Been trying to figure out a way to do this for right handed folks.

The ignorance in this makes me sad. I wish I could live in your fantasy world where dangers to myself and my family only exist when I am at home. I sincerely hope you never get a large enough dose of reality that it will change your opinion. What is your plan if you are in bumper to bumper and some nutcase starts breaking in your windows with a crow bar? Call the police?

Back to the OP, I like the mod, but I'm right handed. I'll have to look around in the cab for an alternative. I'm not a huge fan of the mounts inside the center console. That doesn't really solve the problem of the lack of quick access, IMHO.

I'm sure you can come up with something mounted under the steering column if you don't like it in the center console no?

This is one of the better holster mods I've seen. I know cross-drawing is frowned upon, but for us righties, I wonder if it would work to mount it in the other direction.

I have some reservations about it flashing during exit/entry. Any worry that it might draw the unwanted attention of thieves, busy bodies or a LEO during a stop?

This line of reasoning has been adopted by a number of states/municipalities. Unfortunately, these places also tend to have higher rates of violent crime while states/municipalities that do not restrict the human right to self defense have lower rates of violent crime. Moreover, the places the move to lessen restrictions on firearms invariably see reductions in violent crime. This is a statistical fact that has been conclusively established by the research of John Lott, PhD (among others) to the point that it's not a topic of argument by serious people.

As OP suggested it would depend on your state and local laws and probably partially to what said LEO or busy bodies had for breakfast that morning.
