Can you give me the 101 on the benefits of installing a compressor in your truck? I've just never thought of putting one in so I'm not sure of the benefits.

For air. Imagine all the things you can do with an air compressor.

Especially when you gotta deflate to get out of a tight spot, then get ready for the ride back home.

A lot of guys deflate their tires for offroading and use these to pump the tires back to a normal pressure when they're done.

I have had one of my Jeep for years and it has saved me the trouble of having to take out the spare and remove the wheel when I have a puncture. Just pulled out the tire plug kit and inserted the plug and brought it back up to proper PSI and away I went. True, you could just swap out with your spare tire and then fix the flat when you get home. Also comes in handy for inflatable rafts when the family goes to our cottage in summer. Also helped my son by the side of the road with a flat. Not a must have item, but I like to have it on board. Also as stated, it is great for airing down on the trail and then pumping back up when hitting the road.

I think I'm going to go ahead and order a set too, and try and fab up something so that I can pull a couple of pins and take them out for the times when I want more articulation. It doesn't look like it will be too tough, I just want the option for when I'm hauling heavy loads and/or trailers.

Has anyone with an access cab 3rd gen come up with a comfortable solution for a larger dog (husky) in the back seat. This is the only thing i dont really like about the third gen from the 2nd, instead of a flat area when the seats are folded down they fold up and doesn't leave a lot of room and with em down, there's only a little more. My girlfriend doesn't like the idea of her in the back seat and the dog in the front lol.

Same concept, you just don't want rubbing or binding with the steering and suspension cycling.

Washed my new Taco for the first time today ... now getting ready to install some vent visors and check my zerk fitting to see if they are low on grease like many have reported ... UPDATE : installed the AVS in channel vent visors. Checked the 5 zerk fittings and all took 3-4 full pumps of grease

You won't even have to do that, the stud that they screw down on is welded into the plate that you'll put in place over the leafspring. All you have to do is lift the vehicle up by the tow hitch grab a hold of them and spin them off. Just don't use Loctite when you're putting them down on , then you can make a shorter stop that screws that back down on that stud. there is constant load on them when in application so no matter how you go with it, you will have to lift the back end up in order to release energy off of them

You can not put much in a 1/2 ton Dodge , Ford or Chevy either . If you really want a truck to use as a truck , it needs to be a 3/4 or 1 ton . my 98 Dodge 1500 was only rated to carry about 1600 lbs including passengers etc. These Toy ota trucks are more for fun , and towing fishing boats and hauling sofas .
