How's everyone mounting their twin compressors in the engine bay??

 

If I had got the twin, I would've got this mount from Slee Off-road:

Rockgecko, had both stock AC and York AC pump. York's have internal oil, so outside oil isnt necessary.

Sounds like you are on the right track with the pre oiler and filter. Can't seem to pull up specs on the stock AC pump to max rates and such, but I would bet you would out do any aftermarket electric pump!

 

The loctite 545 fixed all of my leaks and now I have ZERO leaks! This stuff is amazing. I was pretty skeptical at first. Just put a thing strip and snug the fitting

I got it setup, tested, and no leaks! So happy with the way this turned out


Now to run lines to the front and rear bumpers..... Need to start reading this thread over again

 

Looks great! I ran only one line to the rear. I use a 25' 1/4" air hose to air up. It reaches all four corners of the truck just fine, and coils up small for so storage.

 

I ran one to the front bumper and then my tank is under the bed so I put a QD off the back of the tank

 

where is the little compressor at? I see it peeking thru the bracket there but howd it fit behind the small reservoir tank?

Yeup. I put my dual back there too. I don't think I posted pics in this thread....

 

The heart of my system. Twin ARB mounted to alum plate. Airline out the back wall, then 90*, tucks into frame rails, and terminated at hitch.



MLV barrier over compressor.


Custom wire harness. 4 AWG welding wires power.


Air line terminated in rear hitch.




Rubber chair end protects air fitting.


Power

Relay.


I prefer this little black rectangular switch to the big ARB one.

That spot seemed like the best place. I used a dremel to cut a hockey-puck sized hole through the middle of each plastic bin, so I could run the SS hose through and still get a crescent wrench in there to tighten the fittings. It's much quieter than I was expecting, hopefully it's the same for you with the metal panel!

 

Fun project indeed. Glad to be done with it.. INDEED! This was my first crack at working with a compressed air system, so stoked to say there are no leaks!

 

Same here. No leaks anywhere. Happy to say I got it right the first time on this one.

 

I'm in the middle of this little project. It's much more work than I had anticipated, but fun.
