What do you think you'll get?

I've got one tire so far. I have 5 wheels so i should get 4 tires but I can get away with just 3.

    Where in the bay area?
Rearend Specialties in Santa Clara did great work for me back when I lived there. Gears and labor was less than 1500 for both diffs (but I pulled the 3rds and dropped them off loose).

I just ordered gears though ECGS. Complete front replacement for $690. Save about 5-6 hours of shop labor time by unbolting old and swapping in new.
Ordered ring pinion and master install for rear (already have ARB) for $455. Saving about 3 hours of shop labor pulling third and bringing it into Shaffers Off-road in Alameda to do the gear install. Roughly $300. Then I'll reinstall it myself.

So I'm in for $1445 not including diff oils, a few random tools, and one way shipping of core back to ECGS. Saving 8-9 hours of shop labor (easily $1000). Not accounting for a whole weekend of cussing, bloody knuckles, and backstroking in diff oil under the truck.

Overall for drop off truck and pick back up all done, $2600-2700 doesn't seem far off

I'd look more at 4.56s or 4.88s. I'm running 4.10s and I'd regear to 4.88s if I had the money to.

I had the stock 4.10s with the first gen TRD's and 33's and hated life. 4.56 and 33's is tits.

My goal was to get the truck back to the same power it had before I changed the tires, what's the 4.56 gaining me? (noob question i know)

If you went with 33s then 4.56s would basically bring you back to stock ratios and give you back a bit of power that you probably lost.

http://www.southwestpowersports.com/gearchange.html <-- Read that. Really informative about gearing when changing tire sizes.

So, we are finally getting to the actual reason for the gear swap.
What motor do you have? What tranny? Current gear ratio?
What was your original tire size and your current tire size ?

    Its all related.
