TRD supercharger availability update

How does the magnusson tuner work? Does it allow for someone to write a custom tune if desired?

 

It's the Bullydog tuner and yes you or the tuner can tune it. The part about the Bullydog keeping the tune in memory is another story

 

I guess I'll be picking one up then. I want my rev hang gone, if I lose a couple hundred bucks then I guess that's what happens. I feel like i have a better chance of the bully dog working than URD releasing a UCON for 12+ trucks.

 

Hey all, I emailed Magnuson about the potential price of the blower with no bully dog kit, what was reference above as the "tuner" kit, but haven't received a response. I think it's been about a week since I emailed them.

 

I'm curious if you'd have better luck asking through a vendor such as LCE or URD rather than trying to go direct.

 

Does UCON clear the rev hang? I didnt know it could do that

 

My understand of the UCON was that it was magical and would solve all my problems. Perhaps I was mistaken.

 

I heard the same thing! Yeah I thought someone said the rev hand wasn't really fixable, but I could be wrong.

 

Hello all

I have a question regarding this TRD supercharger (PTR29-35090) and its compatibility across the 4.0L platforms, I hope this is the right place to post.

Is it possible to use the FJ supercharger fit kit ( PTR29-35093 ) on a 2013 Tacoma ? Would there be any extensive modifications required to make it compatible or would I have to source hard to find parts?

I have searched on here but haven't found any concrete answers, Any experts on here that can help me out?

Welcome to TW. It can be done with modification. I think it is posted somewhere in the 140+ pages in this thread. Did you get a good lead on a TRD unit?

Magnuson has released the non-TRD branded Tacoma version, but they did jack up the price quite a bit.

I tried searching through this thread, but didn't find anything detailed or definitive answers. Any suggestions on where to look ?

I'm aware of the Magnuson re-release, which was the route I was planning on pursuing but I did come across a brand new unit with an FJ fit kit at a price that's too good to pass up.


I just purchased my Tacoma last month and was trying to progress on it before posting it up on TW... soon to follow!

If I were to get a hold of a Low-Temp Radiator (PTR29-35080) and Hood Support Bracket (PTR29-35081) used in the Tacoma fit kit would this take care of the majority of the compatibility issues with using an FJ Fit Kit ?

 

If it's being sold for a good price I would pick that up real quick, chances are other people might do so while you're researching. But I believe people have installed with little modification for fj fit kits.

 

I have a complete MKII URD unit up for grabs for an 05-08 Tacoma with an APR X-1, brand new Exhaust Cam gears, extra belts, t-stat and all the other odds and ends. Just add your choice of fuel pump and filter and rock- $4000 shipped to the CONUS
