Where Have You Off-Roaded Today? 3rd Gen

Spent Saturday in the Tillamook SF. Did some fishing (caught some good sized Rainbow), had a nice fire going, drank some brews... no complaints!

 

I like the front grille.. I certain you have mentioned who made it, how much, etc.. I would still love to know!

I might do the same next weekend here in Montana. Although, finding a lake where I can spin fish and keep a trout to eat without being harassed by the fly fishermen (I do both) might be impossible.

Grill is from customcargrills.com. Prices on his website... depends on your configuration. Good stuff.
The topper is an A.R.E. V-Series.
Fish on! I've been to Bozeman a couple times, usually driving through to get to northern Wyoming (Yellowstone, Cody, Powell). Beautiful country. I could see myself living up there someday.

That said, Montana is great truly "The Best Place" as the state phrase says. I was a backcountry ranger in YNP for several years and spent a majority of my summers growing up in or around YNP. Next time you're in the area send me a message.. I will gladly direct you to a few choice and unknown places to fish, hike, or simply take in views that the normal tourist (and very few locals) know about.

 

Yes it is. Good eye! I was photographing the event over a 7 year span for a book about BM art. The place is a gold mine for photography!

 

My daughter is an electronic music DJ - "Camea" - who has played/performed there for the last 2 years...although from Seattle she now lives in Berlin...

 

Tough break. I put the first dent in the skid plate at this spot. The Rubicon Jeep I was following just floated over this crop and also at the short waterfall section that is after this spot. 35" tires made it so easy for the Jeep.

Took my cousin to Lytle Creek. He likes desert mostly but he had no idea there was wheeling like this in socal

 

Lake Isabella. The lake is so low there are trails all over the place where there should be water.

 

That picture was taken at Silver Lake west of Anaconda. It is right next to MT Hyw 1 and is three or so miles before you get to Georgetown Lake.

My drive was from Bozeman

 

Had a fun weekend Camping getaway, the location called Kilbourne Hole is an old Caldera about an hour west of me.








Gotta get me one of those awesome rooftop tents... one day...

It's the Dakar Pro (Textured Black). Bought it locally at Alamo Auto Supply for $220 with all the mounting accesories, but from a cursory Google search it looks like Big Country Trucks sells it online. Lightbar is separate, but I have a post about install on this thread.

 

Found my trucks twin, same color, trailer, and loaded down for a day at the mud park.

That being said, my trailer is 1800 pounds, 2 x Honda Rancher 420's at about 500 pounds, with all equipment for a day at the mud park. Call it an even 3000 pounds or so and two passengers in the truck. Gas Mileage with this on a 120 mile round trip, open road at about 70 MPH most of the way. Averaged 11.5 MPG.
