Longtime lurker, finally decided to bite the bullet and ask for help...

I have a 2013 limited dclb with the towing package and will be towing a 6x12 enclosed uhaul trailer WITH my trx 450r sport atv in the bed.

I wont be bringing any appliances only boxes a king sized beg and an L couch.

My truck leans a little with the quad in the bed and im worried the trailer will make it way worse. Should I get airbags? Or do you guys think ill be ok?

    You'll be fine without airbags.

How much weight was the trailer + 4 runner? That must be close if not over it's limit, but good to see how capable the 2016's are.

Awful lot of assumptions based on a pic of the truck parked on the road side.

Doesn't say anything about how it drove, how it handles the load while under way, inclines, declines, etc.

I thought air bags were for really heavy loads or suspensions that handled weight very poorly (or were old)?
Aren't they more of a band aid than anything?

    Someone elighten me

Those are all important points, just because you are able doesn't mean you should. I was mostly curious how much the total weight he was hauling.

One of my early mods was to add airbags. I highly recommend them if you carry the quad in the bed (or tow) often. One trip without should be fine. I love my airbags - I put them on within the first year and still adjust them for the load I haul when necessary.

Air bags are a great investment if you tow all the time. But for what you described, NO ,you will be fine

I'm assuming that since you have a DCLB its a Sport. I had RideRites on my DCSB even with the TSB springs and needed them, I don't have them on my DCLB and don't need them. My SB bottomed out constantly, my LB never has even when loaded and towing.

For repeated towing I would add the airbags.

This. Or is you are planning on traveling at night while towing or hauling - being able to maintain proper headlight aim certainly makes for a more pleasant and safer trip.

I towed a car trailer with a 3800lb el camino from TX to NC a few years back. Im not sure of the trailer weight but it was pretty heavy. The truck handled ok. Gas mileage blew. Braking was the difficult part, just gotta gauge the braking distance.

If the nose is in the air, the steering geometry will be off. I can be driven like this. It's safer and less stressful to have the vehicle sit properly. When not towing/ hauling just air them down to the minimum psi and have your stock ride back. If you're going to wheel at all, get the Daystar airbag cradles.

I put bags on instead of AAL. I can adjust the ride height for the load. The truck always stays level. The Airlift control allows a different pressure on each side. (Eliminates Taco lean) You also get a softer ride compared to AAL under normal conditions.

I also recently used it to jack up the back while I replaced the stock exhaust. The old exhaust came right out with no problems. :)
