The rolling I agree, but the glass some of said is due to the new acoustic glass used in the 2016 being a softer material than before, more than one owner has reported cracks, chips already that seem like they shouldnt have been given same commute conditions as in their previous truck, still more of a stretch.

This is a prime example of how someone will always find a way to rationalize and complain about some stupid thing and are always looking to blame someone instead of either just chalking it up to the fact that shit happens (like a rock flying up and hitting your windshield). I feel like these lame complaints really do take away from those of us who are having real, legitimate complaints, like transmission issues. My truck had slipped into neutral twice while driving down the road, which I'd like to think is a real issue and potential safety concern. Much different than the people whining about "soft glass" (whatever that is), and all the other slew of complaints from OCD members. Transmission and engine issues are legit things to grip about, but "soft glass" is not one of them.

Why would you want to? 2015 was the last year that a Tacoma was built right.

I'm sorry but it's funny to see people with a 16' say to keep a 15'

It's true. I wish I would have bought the 15 instead of the 16. I was in the market this fall and figured I'd get the new design. Too many issues from my experience.

The only reason OP stated for considering the 16 was looks. Poor reason to lose money IMO.

No need to be sorry. I'm one of the guys with a '16 who said keep the '15. I'm just being honest. I fucked up buying this truck. Never owned a Toyota but thought they were a stand-up company that put out quality. Others probably aren't as forthcoming to admit that.

I had a 2nd gen and loved it. I love my 3rd gen even more. I say if you can afford it, get it. If you end up not liking the 3rd gen, you can sell it.

Probably better off with 2015 as it stands to day others have already taken $6k hits trying to dump their problematic 2016. Id argue a more stable and proven brand new 2015 is worth every penny as much as the 2016.

Can you say that with a straight face? JK. My 2003 accord was a diseaster ( rotors, tranny) so much so that CR didnt recommend it and put black marks on the power train.

Stay with the 2015 the taco has turned to a gm unreliable crap, wait until Toyota gets there shit straight, and fixes these problems. I would also weight until Toyota finally fixes the bad leaf spring problem the 2015 and 2016, if your does not have this problem stick with your truck!!!

Like that? That was just on the oldest 3 pages of the Gen 2 page... No vehicle is immune to complaints. No vehicle make/model has ever been perfect. I can find examples for each year given the time, but this was compiled within 10 minutes.

Notice how none are related, maybe the axle wrap (drivetrain issue) shudder, leaf springs, frame rust which are all common TSBs and likely carried over into 3rd gen seeing some of the threads with same issues. However there are some 3rd gen issues that are re-occuring and not isolated/unrelated such as the crank shaft position sensor and the transmission. Yes no vehicle is perfect, but there are common issues occuring in more frequent amounts than before in the new truck, lets hope its first year teething.
