    You don't have to be in park or neutral to engage 4 wheel drive you can engage while driving under 25 mph also.

    Correct but most of the time in motion the truck makes a loud clunck sound from it engaging I don't like the sound so I just don't do it while moving unless I have to, the only time that's ever happened while I was in snow and it doesn't snow at all here. Well not much anyway.

    Is this the clicking sound you're referring to? I was on a gravel road with slight grade and a lot of potholes.

    It will only stop if all 4 wheels are spinning the same speed. If you go down that incline, it will never stop
