Well those are within 3 months... If any Uniballs need to be replaced that often on street trucks, then something is wrong. Those didn't seem like they had maintenance issues.

There are hundreds of factors that can lead to premature wear and most people don't understand that. You may see a Uniball in any arm looking like that after a week. The 4Runner Arm is very clearly pitted which would be caused by something getting trapped inside the Uniballs. Something that I try to explain to people all the time is in regards to the use of caps on top on Uniballs. While they do a great job keeping the majority of stuff out, at the same time they also create a situation where it makes it impossible for debris to escape if trapped under the cap which will eventually work its way through the uniball and damage the lining

The majority of prematurely worn or loose Uniballs we see come from people using an oil based lubricant like WD40 on them which only attracts more dirt and dust and will prematurely deteriorate the Teflon lining inside causing excessive play.

Interesting. I've wondered about the caps myself. Wasn't sure if I should have them.

Icon uses an FK uniball in their arms, they are not made by Icon. Camburg uses a cheaper Auoura Uniball and I believe TC does as well but I'm not 100% sure on that

Pros and cons to them but generally I do not recommend them unless in the most extreme salted road environments. But it's still better even then to simply be diligent about washing them out periodicly and using a healthy does of TriFlow to help keep the Teflon lining in good shape.

Almost 40k miles on my Camburg kit, on original Heims and Uniballs and all are still in great shape. I do check them frequently.

All this talk aside, Camburg Arms are stil, my overall preference. Now let's carry on with the overland talk! I'll be heading up on Wednesday Night

Pretty sure TC is a 1" FK ball when I was researching replacing them from mine.

You paid the 180$ they charge? You can get them for under 50$ a piece from other online sources. :(

yep I wasnt 100% sure so I confirmed it this morning when I got in. TC uses a spec FK uniball in their arms but a normal WSSX16T will work just fine as well for a replacement. They run $48.

They use a mix of both, it depends on the application but replacement parts are almost always going to be FK products.

Anybody else taking Stoneman Lake Rd in? Looks like more fun than the highway. Just a dirt road.

I live in the east valley and will go up via Payson. It would take me 40 min to get to the 17 in North Phoenix when I can be in Payson in an hour via the Beeline.
