@VE7OSR so with the medium sized ground plain of the hood, would you recommend a 1/4 wave or 1/2-5/8 wavelength antenna?

Edit: @2big4arunner i guess the roof mount isn't bad for height, considering it's only 1/4 wavelength....so ~18". I just don't want to drill my roof or have to setup/takedown my antenna all the time.

From my understanding the antenna 1/4, 1/2 & 5/8 is based on length and frequency. Always best to use a calculator to figure that part out. If you have the wrong wavelength for the length of the antenna it will be weak and never work right.
I am no pro at this but basic rules of application exist and it will help you down the road.
I understand not wanting to drill. Just like i dont like exposed wires lol

1/2 or 5/8 wavelength antenna for the fender. The roof is a good place for a mag mount 1/4Wave.

    Thanks @VE7OSR

I'm still leaning to fender mount for now. This will give my handheld some extra distance. If I do get a mobile, I might opt for a better performing roof mount :)

Welcome to the group. I run Cerberus which is the exact same model as yours.
Do you have any paint protection for the front end yet?

You will want the clear front 3m vinyl as the white trucks are really prone to chipping. I have at least a dozen on my truck

Ya it's pricey fo sho. But worth it. Fully submersible and all that. Lots of features. Now everyone know why I don't have a winch/bumper ;)

@2big4arunner ya, a run sounds awesome. Would like to put these new duratracs to the test (and use the new radio).

What kinda job you looking into? Still driving?

Edit: @Foihdzas while I'm on the bumper topic, where did you get the ARB? And cost, if you don't mind me asking? Across the line is like half the price, even with our exchange rate.....

still wanting to drive. been looking for something better then what EI pays but I just got screwed on some insurance that I had bought for my payments so its not as sweet as it was before. Lucky I had money set aside.

I am super b certified. Might go back down to a couple places I had heard about on monday.

I miss having a good job and not having to think about my next check
