Guys running icon extended travel coil overs and 14" 700# springs how much threads are showing on the shock body for 3" of lift. Just put my springs on today and have about 1/2-3/4" of threads showing and I have 26" from middle of wheel to top of fender I know it's supposed to sag a bit and I currently don't have my front skid on.

Pretty sure kings come standard with 14"?? Icon makes them for their extended travel coil overs. Just wanted the 700# and had to go with the 14" length

I'm sure somebody around here knows the exact number of threads needed to get the 3in.

I'm running 14in King coils on extended travel Icons as well, but I'm almost flat on them since I got 4inch camburg spindles.

Guess I'll lower them to basically no preload. Thought I was going to be on point with them where they are :p

I have the same fronts that you ordered that just haven't been installed yet but when I did my original OME lift I had to drive it around for a few days for the springs to settle to see how much lift I ended up with and I figure it will be the same with the ICON's. Then adjust the preload to get the height I want.

Plus, the amount of preload needed will vary between us because of additional equipment we may or may not have installed. My armor, S/C, winch, and other gear is going to need more preload than someone running a lighter setup. But someone will have a ball park idea for ya :)

My extended (14'/700#) Icons have about 1 1/2 inches of threads showing for 3 inches of lift. I have a plate bumper and some other heavier things up front, for reference.

Thanks!! Will help when they settle and I throw the pelfrey skid back on. Eventually will be getting a pelfrey bumper and winch but that's not for a while.

:drunk: who cares about lift. If you're worried about that then figure it out yourself, you obviously have a tape measure (not to mention every single truck is different)

I think the general rule of thumb is 1:2 of thread to lift ratio.

Crazy the differences it is per vehicle. I have about 3/4" showing and I have the V8 in mine. But no bumper nor skids.

Not sure how much I have showing, honestly probably close to 2", but I cranked on them pretty good to get my ride ht. Not at coil bind, but a few k miles offroad and I'm still getting about 2.5-3" of lift.

No preload here. Just spindle lift and 14/700 springs
