    No none that I'm noticing the engine runs more smoothly but I just don't have the acceleration like I used to

    Weird.. Maybe they need a break-in period? If you can, check for oil around the plugs to see if maybe you're losing compression. Other than that, I'll defer to the experts.

    Changed my plugs this weekend. They were worn down but not horribly. Probably could have lasted longer but I don't want copper plugs in there.


    I have to say, this will NOT and should NOT take anyone 4 hours or more to do. I'm not sure what the OP was talking about. Maybe if you are drunk when you start and keep drinking while you are doing it lol you may need 4 hours.

    I've never changed plugs out before in my life and it took me an hour to do.

    Just got done with mine @ 31k miles. The denso plugs were all at .048 and the NGKs faired a little worse at .056-.059. Pic of the single plug is the worse NGK at .059.

    Gapped all new plugs to .038 and called it a day. Took about an hour and 15 to get it all done. Not too bad

    I have OEM spark plugs on my 14 Tacoma. Haven't changed them yet. Tried reading the whole thread but theres way to much to read. From what I can gather, it seems that Denso spark plugs are the best choice. And gapped at 0.41 I gather. Any other recommendations on gapping and which plugs are worth buying?

    Denso's and .040 is correct. I would suggest adding a little anti seize to the threads and torque to 15lbs and that's about it. It's a pretty easy job.

    Change them! My new to me 2007 had 87k miles on the original plugs. I changed them last weekend and it runs like a completely different truck. The old plugs were very worn with gaps approaching .06.

    It's an easy job so go knock it out. You will be happy you did.

    Been getting shit for mileage, between 14.1 and 14.6 last three tanks, figured I'd change plugs and see if that was culprit.

    25,556 miles on them.
    NGK: .051, .057, .060
    DENSO: .043, .044, .045

    Replaced all with DENSO, $2.75ish each from local dealer. Great writeup, only took me 1.5 hrs. You don't need to take off any wires or hoses on driver side though, I took top bolt out of that black bar and loosened the bottom bolt to swing it out of the way. Used a 10" and a 6" extension together on driver side to make it easier.

    And yes I checked the "pre gapped" plugs before putting them in, all were at .040 minus one at .041

    Wish I would have done it a month ago when I bought them, waiting for warmer weather, got home today and idle sounded funny.. stuttering almost.. Checked oil while hood open, it was changed 500 miles ago and fine. Air filter was done 5k ago and still pretty clean.. hoping this helps, will report back when tank is empty since I just filled up.

    I have had my 2013 TRD Off Road Double Cab Short bed since February 2013 when it had 2 miles on it, the test drive was 1.5 miles of those 2. I switched to synthetic oil at 30,000 miles (Mobil1 5W30 full synthetic with Wix Filter) and change it at 15,000 mile intervals. The odometer just tripped 75,000 miles on the original spark plugs and I just changed the oil. Last fill up was approximately 20 MPG. I drive 104 miles round trip a day 80% highway 20% city. We drive the Tacoma most of the time around town and on weekends. My wife has a 2015 RAV4 Limited that is a lease so we are trying to keep the miles down. I plan on changing the spark plugs on the next oil change at 90,000 miles.

    I changed mine the other day.. Took an hour and half... Used Denso iridium plugs...Runs much smoother and starts faster...
