    Most of my diesel experience was with the Detroit 8v92.

    I've worked on a few 6v92's, 8v92's and even a 16v92. Two stroke diesels are sweet unless you live in Alaska and have to order parts.

    The company I used to work for had a 16v92 genset. Talk about loud, and a pita to get fired off in the winter. The motor was a junkie and would usually take at least a can of ether to get going. Eventually got our cat 3512 genset back which was a lot easier to start.

    Yep. That was an older engine. The newer ones I've been working on have much shorter skirts. They also develop about twice the horsepower (25,000 or so).
