Just nuts and bolts. Unless there rusted and all screwed up like mine. Then you gonna have to start cutting

Same it feels like my rack is bouncing through my steering wheel. Bad bushings maybe?

Changed my steering rack. Took me about four days to do it between part hold ups and doing it alone in my driveway. It's a New England truck so its a given that every nut and bolt will be a challenge. Convinced my neighbor to take my picture:image2.jpg

    Next day:

    image1.jpg

...in with the new. discountsteering.com supplied my new rack and suspension.com supplied new Proforged outers and upgraded poly bushings by energy suspension.

    IMG_0447.jpg

Feels pretty good going down the road. One frustration that stands out in all of this is between a brand new rack with inners and brand new outer tie rods I would have thought that someone would include new jam nuts. However, neither order included them. There was no way i was gonna have all brand new parts and reuse my same, crusty - rounded off jam nuts. So I had to order two m20x1.5mm nuts through fastenal and it took two days for them to arrive from indiana. All in all it was a good size project for one man, but God is good and I got the job done.

Well, I am brand new to the Tacoma world as of a couple weeks ago. I bought this 1999 from the original owner. It has 145K miles and it is the 4cly 5spd. Below that are my 94 and 93 pickups from a few years back. I have been without a truck since I sold my Ranger a few years ago.

I havent done much to the Tacoma as of yet. I removed the shell and sold it, and I did all of the drive line fluids including Mt-90 in the transmission.

I am just working on cleaning it up a bit. I did order a cluster with a tach that should be here tomorrow and I am working on a high-idle problem. I think I have it narrowed to the TPS. OEM on Amazon for $40. Should arrive next week.

    Past Trucks:

I hope you all dont blast me for posting a Ford. It was a super clean truck and ran like a top. It was also an original-owner purchase.

You don't really have to completely remove the sway bar to get the full benefit. Just disconnect the two ends at the LCA, remove the bushings/washers and secure one end of the bar to the frame. Thats what I did.

That way, you can easily reconnect it, if the wife complains :angrygirl:

Little help here, I'm replacing the factory LPV. Checked out a few but would like something that has all the hardware/ fittings. I saw this on a members build. Anyone have an opinion on this or offer advice on something better. Or what worked for them. Also it's back ordered, wondering if I could source the fittings and parts my self.
    Thanks. image.jpg

Changed spark plugs to densos. Last time had all ngk. Anyone run 3 of each? Make any difference? Seeing as I've heard they come like that from factory... I'm sure this has been debated, but haven't looked into it. Also put in ngk wires.

Ordered af and O2 sensors.. Also a blackvue dash cam.. And an R2C conical filter for my h.a.i. :D See if it's any better than the Donaldson powercore G2 filter I'm running now. Have a suspicion that it's a lil bit restrictive.

Properly vacuumed my a.c. too. After replacing the Schrader valves as well as an o ring. Also put this foam insulation on the low side. Member said it helped a lil. We shall see.
