So when is the next Mod day? I have some lighting projects I need to get done. But I live t an apartment so I dont have a garage or power tools

 

LE has its own (different location) offices. I'll be in the area tomorrow and will check!

 

I keep meaning to roll the park and see if he's still around. If I do, it'll be on the bike and when it warms up a bit.

I wish i could. But im just to busy this yr. Next yr i might be able to work it as are bug vacation will be in march and not in the summertime. So i might be able to swing it.

The thing is, I wanna shoot Milky Way off of GPR. Maybe from Sentinel. So it'll probably be in the Taco.

255/85/16 now fits in the normal spare location.

 

Are you specifically wanting GPR for the view of Half Dome? Or do you just want away from the lights? I know a better spot if the lights is an issue.

mmmm Milky Way I took this a few years ago, two frames on my DSLR with a 20mm f/2.8 lens, 3 minute exposures at ISO1600, camera piggybacked on a equatorial clock driven telescope mount... this was from up north of Mt Lassen, near the Modoc County border, on a cattle ranch, where a few 100 of my astronomer friends get together every summer for dark skies and steak dinners, we call it GSSP

 

The view mostly.

 

That's nice. I think we've talked about that before? idk. I have a cheap e-mount. Not sure it'd swing the camera weight but maybe I'll try it one day. The mount I would love to have is the Losmandy GM8.

The trouble is, if you want Half Dome, it's gotta be on a tripod.
