being in the automotive field, I tend to get alot of styes in my eyes from always touching my eyes with dirty hands. I have 2 right now in one eye that hurt like a mofo, and thankfully one popped..is there any way to help prevent these aside from not touching my eyes with dirty hands?

I do wear rubber gloves, but when I wear them for a while, and the moisture gets in them from sweating, my hands start to break out..damnit i really hate my job

besides wearing gloves while you work, stuff will still get in your eyes. carry some visine with you....use it a couple of times a day....it will clean your eyes out pretty well. i use it pretty often, cause im not a safety glasses fan(i use them while gerinding and such, but dontlike to), and all the stuff we do where i work...you have the tendency to get alotta crap in the eyes.

Might want to use a natural tear saline instead of visine. Visine is not good for your eyes when you use it on a regular basis. Or at least the medicated Visine's are not.

Ya, visine with long term use is not good for your eyes. Also the chemicals in it do not kill bacteria and this is what causes sty's. Try to make an effort not to rub or touch around your eyes so much, it's a hard habit to break but in the long run you'll be better off.

One thing to try is a solution called Colloidal Silver. You can find it at some supplement stores or health food stores. This is a very very low silver solution that's like 5-10 parts per million. Silver is a natural anti-biotic. It has been shown to kill 100's of different types of bacteria, fungus, and virus'.
And yes you can put it in your eyes since the silver content is so low. We sell it in our clinic. It is also good for sore throats, and sinus infections. I wear contacts and will get infections in my eyes very once in awhile that is what I use it for. Hope this helps.
