Honestly, if it were up to me I wouldn't choose to live in Boulder. It's expensive as shit, people are fucking HORRIBLE at driving, and the cyclists ride in the middle of busy streets like they own the damn place. Oh and Bernie sanders /Clinton stickers everywhere you turn your head.

But yes I mean depends on where within those places @SixthSnail. Like Phil said, if your choices are between Boulder and Denver and the prices don't seem outrageous to you then you should be able to find a place that you like somewhere without too much trouble

i strongly suggest you look at a map of denver and surrounding areas and then also map out the commute to get into boulder for work every day.

    Westminster
    Longmont
    Lafayette
    Louisville
    Golden
    Niwot
    Gunbarrel
    Broomfield
    Erie

    Hell even Lyons area

I wouldn't suggest trying to go east of denver boundaries into aurora or south of denver borders into littleton to commute to boulder daily, you will want to shoot yourself going up 93 or 36 daily!!!

in some areas, be prepared to offer $7,000 to $15,000 over asking price.
Once a house hit the market, it becomes a bidding war.
Super stoked when it comes time to sell my place and retire.

then id say pick which office you will be commuting to more and go from there! :D

I have a friend that had offices in south denver and boulder and lives in highlands ranch, he hates life any day he has to commute to boulder which is happening more and more. Most days he just works from home which is nice

if you mainly are going to be working in Denver city limits then that opens a ton of options!!

I will warn you that the RENTAL market is just as strong if not stronger than the buying market. Get ready to spend a shit ton for a small ass place. dang people keep moving here for the weed!!! :D

Cheaper to buy, but I understand.
Look into Loveland. Great small town, centrally located between everything and the cost of living is still reasonable. It's 10 miles from Fort Collins where I live and the housing is substantially cheaper.

Yep! The Good Land! SB and Montecito is all old retired rich folks. Goleta has a good number of people in their 20s and 30s since it is much cheaper than SB.

I need to make it back out to the central coast. I went to college out there and really miss that area.

Everybody ends up missing it, coming back, realizing it's not worth the extreme price, then moving away again.

It's amazing. Everybody wants to retire in Montecito and I don't blame them. Damn it's beautiful. Hope I get there someday.
