I didn't really think of this til all my stuff arrived but how do you wire, say, a pair of led backup lights in parallel with MetriPack connectors?

If you use a 4 pin connector then you have to add jumpers on the female side which means doubling up the wire when you crimp the pin (as shown). If you are using 12ga or 14ga wire I don't see how this will fit in the seals.

If you use only 2 pin connectors then you have to run the wires from LED2 into the back of the LED1 connector which means doubling the wire when you crimp the male pins.

    Just wondering what do...

Ok cool. So you just doubled up the wire when you crimped the top two pin connector?

You guys are doing all of this amazing wiring and I'm sitting here still trying to relearn how to tie my shoes. Overtime I come back to this thread I am even more impressed with my fellow TW members. Great work folks.

LoL. I'm learning alot too. Those WeatherPack/MetriPack type connectors make it look easy. I think all the GM vehicles use WeatherPacks now so it's basically OEM.

I ordered all the stuff to make a relay box. When I got it all, I had ordered the wrong box. It only had one bussbar. coulda made it work but I wanted two bussbars. That was another $12 shipping charge from waytek. Then I had to ship that box back. Cost $4 to ship it to them wtf! Oh well. Ive got my box built, but in my stupidity I forgot to order the correct pins for the 2 pin weatherpak connectors.

Does anybody know the bolt specs that are on the 2nd gen drivers side fender where many people are mounting their brackets? Also the specs on the bolts for the Bussmann RTMR itself? Mine didn't come with any mounting hardware. I made a bracket last night, but these are the only pieces I'm missing from having this preliminary step finished.

EDIT: It looks like for the bussmann what's needed are #10-32 or M5 threaded inserts. Source

Ok so this is the wiring diagram for the backup lights. Same deal for the fog pair and anything else that wants to be in parallel.

You can get it through me once it lands mid may.
I didnt think anyone on TW or some one outside of an audio world would really be interested in something like this. The cost is not cheap and is only sold in a 50ft spool. Works out to be 15.8$ per foot for a cable under rated at 1000Amps per 20ft section

Does that mean $15.80 per foot or 15.8¢ per foot? One is in my budget, the other is not haha. Looks like a sweet product though.

Yeah...I've worked with some big ass copper running power to DC power plants. It was called 750 and I can't remember what it was but I do remember it was like $20/ft or some shit

Yeah big wire! Stuff is about as stiff as your frame lol. I know a few people who ran it as a chassis ground in unibody cars

Did you end up wiring your backup pods/LEDS to a switch or to turn on automatically when reversing? Just curious.

I'm still in the middle of wiring but thinking you should be able to do both. If the LED can get power from the OEM reverse wire or from the switch then it would come on/off when in reverse or it would come on/off with the switch.

I decided I did NOT want them to come on EVER (automatically) when I was in reverse. Don't want to unintentionally blind someone. A switch was my choice. It's in my overhead panel so it's easy to reach and if I don't have enough light in reverse I can just throw the switch.
