But you bought a dirt bike....o_O:frusty:

If your so worried about Street riding then why not have a street bike....

You supermoto guys make no sense sometimes....

I get that you like the light smaller dirt bike feel on the rode....bit why should you go through the effort to upgrade it more to the street? Are you racing it on the street? Going the speed limit and regular driving doesn't take much....

I feel like suspension for off roading is more needed then on road. Unless your racing on the street or driving inappropriately

It's the exact same thing. It needs to be setup and sprung/dampened properly to get the best ride which can mean smooth and/or stable.

You obviously haven't experienced a "set up" street suspension vs one that is factory. Cause they are very different. I'm sure @DoubleRGirl @TheMuffinMan and some others would agree.

I'd say you need to ride a supermoto before you assume things about them. They are nothing like a dirt bike or a street bike. They can do both in their own way that is impossible to explain unless you've ridden one.

I have zero problems or complaints on riding a factory suspension on the street:notsure:

It does everything I need it to do... But maybe I'm really missing out on something

Everyone has a different definition of both though. Like I've told sacrifice... Mine and his definition of off-oading vaires greatly.

you're probably a normal sized human being. on my ktm i'd get bounced onto the tank every time i went over bumps, thought i was going to break my vagina. through some turns if there were dips or bumps i've lost my outside leg before from the rebound, pretty scary haha

I know that if you are doing it in Street tires then it's not really off roading to me. My 650 has 60/40 tires and can do some light trail riding but it's slicker then crap in most cases. Yeah we can ride down gravel and dirt roads at speed to but that's not off roading to me either lol.

I can see how yes you can do some off roading on some Street tires. But It wouldnt be much of riding. If it's dry though I could see you could get away with a little more stuff.

Either way you can't say the supermoto is some do all bike.

Everything is a compromise in a bike that is taken on and off-road. You can optimize the suspension for the street but off-road it will handle like crap and either reduce how much fun the dirt is and/or cause a crash when pushed too hard. Same goes for off-road though what I've found is that it's much harder to hit the limits of an off-road setup suspension riding around on public roads; if you're taking the bike to the track that's a whole different ball game. I always have slanted my bikes more off-road on the suspension and usually my tires are my limiting factor and not the suspension. If I put something soft and grippy like TKC-80's or Karoo 3's on my old 950 or 690 I was scraping pegs in the twisties easily even with a 21" front wheel. However TKC's are super soft (hence the grip) so pinch flats and bent rims are a problem riding moderately aggressive (for me) off-road on the bigger bikes unless I keep the air pressure up but then grip on dirt suffers.

Choose your bias and just get out and ride. Play with settings and you'll find one that clicks with you.

Who gives a shit if his definition of offroad is different than yours? Just because he doesn't run the Dakar everyday like you do apparently doesn't mean anything.

I bet Sacrifice has just as much fun offroad as you do, and waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay more fun on road than you do. I don't have a bike yet, but I'm pretty sure the whole point of being on a motorcycle is to just fucking enjoy it. And in that sense, a supermoto that CAN do it all is way more enjoyable than some woods bike.
