    ...because I do want my truck lifted. I wasn't so much saying I was going to do it but it could be a possible third option to 3rd leaf and overload removal. Not to mention you can customize your rear lift by de arching them without changing the characteristics too much.

    i know this might not be the best place to say this but i am extremely happy with my expo pack. i did install it exactly as it came and the ride is buttery soft and provides about 3-4 inches of lift. i have done some desert running, jumped a few times on and offroad, and regular street driving and it has been a great upgrade performance and looks wise. coupled with fox 2.5 DSC RR i have been able to tune the rear to be perfect with my bed shell and storage. i have absolutely no complaints about stiffness. i only suggest this because you are buying a new part and modifying it before its on the truck to decrease the stiffness. I can only tell you i would never consider wasting my time after installing this part, its perfect as it comes.

    i cant speak to the regular pack but i would expect the similar performance and less height. they purposely designed these to be flexy which means a nicer ride in my opinion. coupled with a huge shock like i have its perfect. shock over spring is what we should be aiming for.IMG_20160306_165550133.jpg IMG_20160306_165542652.jpg

    You seem to know a lot about this stuff OZ. What's your opinion on re arching the entire leaf pack to achieve the same result in lift numbers as removing the 3rd spring or overload spring?

    I would just remove the upper overload if you're just trying to reduce the lift height

    The lift doesn't bother me, what I'm trying to do is make them more....tolerable on the street.

    ...while still being able to tow a tent trailer and some camping gear. There may not be a perfect solution.

    Hmmmmm....don't know that I like the idea of airbags as a solution. The Dakars will give me the lift I'm looking for, the added capacity and better springs then OEM. There must be a compromise in all of that somewhere. Not trying to have you solve my 'problem' btw. Just stirring the pot of ideas.

    If you want a softer ride remove the 3rd , you'll get around 2" of lift still

    So a prerunner is going to get the same amount of lift as a 4x4? I have read both ways so I wasn't sure.
