I'll keep your house nice and tidy for you while you live in Denver...

We'll have to work on the garage situation though.

    Depends on where in Denver.

    But generally speaking... hell no.

    This isn't the 70s and 80s anymore.

Boulder is so friggen expensive and a "destination" to live that hippies can't even afford eat in Boulder, let alone live there.

Boulder has changed so much... it's essentially been California'd due to the wealthy Californians moving here because it increases their standard of living.

    Boulder isn't full of hippies.

It's a college town that also has a large contingency of uptight and self-entitled wealthy people.

The people are cool for the most part and if you can look past it all, it's truly an amazing town with lots to offer.

I'm sitting back and loving it.

The same model house of mine just sold in my neighborhood in 24 hours. It got into a bidding war and the "winner" paid cash. Sold for $100,000 more than the listing price would have been three years ago.

Be prepared to bend over and sing Moon River.

The rental market is tough right now.

Denver offers a nice small city feel with lots of urban things to do. Not too bad of a drive to the hills/mountains.

Boulder is a large town feel with great music, food, etc. You're pressed right up against the hills so you can easily walk or bike to take advantage of them and Boulder creek. Plus you are a very quick drive to 4-wheeling, camping, etc.

No hippies in The Republic of Boulder. We like to reefer to them as trustafarians. Entitled f*cks of America.

    What haven’t I changed?
If you're looking to work in Boulder, housing may be more affordable in nearby towns like Longmont, Lafayette/Louisville, Erie, or even Dacono/Firestone if you can stand a longer commute. The problem is that the area around Boulder/Superior/Westminster is becoming a sort of mini Silicon Valley and as a result of that gentrification the cost of living is increasing as well, and it's about to get worse with Google increasing its presence in Boulder.

My god that would kill my soul.

When I first started dating my GF she was living in Littleton. Driving to see each other harked back to the olden days when you'd commute for 11 days to deliver a message.

Greatest thing to ever happen to my business life.

Used to take me 1hr 15mins to get to the airport. Now it's 35 or 40 mins. Never traffic. Ever.

I grew up 5 miles from NYC.

    Denver is a small city.

The suburbs have exploded but Denver proper is not all that big.

It's all perspective. I grew up in the mountains of North Idaho.
Fort Collins is a big city and Denver is avoided.

    I love Denver.

It still gives me the city feel I miss while not being overwhelming or obnoxious. Plus there's so many cool things to do and great food/bars/music.

Although I love going back and visiting NYC knowing that I'll be leaving in a few days.
