For those of you who have ordered 2016's, any dealer recommendations in SoCal area? I'm hoping to order a 2017 by late May or June.

It's so difficult to find a QS TRDOR DCSB 4x4 in the area. They're all getting snatched up pretty quick.

yep, thats why I went out of state. Even with a flight, hotel, and driving it back you'll save money with the way SoCal dealers price 4x4 Tacomas....

I would check with the CA DMV before you buy out of state.

You may have to pay extra to register it in California. Or even sales tax.

I had a very good experience with Robert Householder from Toyota of Orange. Contacted me to let me know he's aware that I'm looking for a 4x4 taco. Didn't bug me until they had some coming in. Word of advise, don't buy anything from their parts department. The parts department there is a joke.

The process for buying out of state is pretty simple. When you buy in another state you will pay taxes and temporary licensing to that state. In the case of buying in Oregon there is no sales tax. I will have to pay $15 for the temp registration and 0 sales tax in Oregon. The dealer then sends the licensing documents to my local dmv and I will have to go there and pay my local sales tax and licensing just as you would if you were buying in your local state. All I did was email as many dealers as I could in Arizona and Oregon until 1 and in my case 2 dealers accepted to give me invoice pricing on the exact truck I was looking for. The dealer I went with was Toyota of corvalis. They had a white TRD sport dclb 4x4 already in allocation. The only thing I had them do was submit a change to Toyota to have the premium tech and jbl added. Once Toyota accepted the change I was given a build date and put down a $500 fully refundable deposit. I am handling my own financing through usaa so I will have a blank check to give them and I am giving them $10000 down and the difference is being financed. The process has been almost too easy. I'm flying out next Thursday which cost me $140 and will be driving home Thursday and Friday. My salesperson is picking me up in my truck from the airport. The whole trip shouldn't cost me more than $400. Flight, gas, hotel, and food. I hope this helps you guys. If you want more information let me know.

Thanks Launch21v. I guess people are willing to pay above MSRP around here. To ME, Tacoma in the trim and package I want is just not worth paying MSRP.

There seems to be a California mentality to just pay for something instead of trying to get the best deal by doing a little work. I know for me John elway had the exact truck I am getting but they will not lower their prices. They have taken the Carmax model to new car sales. Kind of scary if other dealers take the same approach. I'd rather spend a couple days and a few hundred dollars to save thousands.

My girlfriends father has worked for Norwalk Toyota for two decades. Real straight shooter, honest, and helpful. I'm pretty positive he doesn't have one on the lot. I know he'll dealer trade if possible and can definitely order whatever you need.

I've sent many people to him and he's never marked up a price once.

If you want his contact info just send me a private message.

    Either way, good luck.

The big issue for me was that no dealers wanted to trade these trucks because they knew they could easily sell them.

Yeah he explained that to me when I bought mine.

He just has a really good relationship with some dealers. In two decades, I can imagine that he's done A LOT of trades.

Anyhow, definitely couldn't hurt to hit him up.

Yeah it's definitely a "fringe benefit" to the relationship.

I get amazing prices on parts and service with vehicles out of warranty.:bananadance:

If you are willing to pay MSRP then where are plenty of dealers will happy to take your money. This is just sad reality of living in SoCal. For me I ordered exact one close to invoice from dealer near me. Just doing the waiting game just like everyone. 1 week down 7 more weeks to go....
