I have a 2012 tacoma with 69,542 miles on it. And my secondary air injection system went out. I know tundra has has this issue along with a few other toyota models as well. I went to the dealer and it costed me 2059.00 dollars to get it fixed. That is freaking crazy. For a pump and two valves. I called toyota to see if they would warranty it for any reason as they did with the tundra. And they said no because not enough people have reported an issue. Also. I can't get it fixed under the emissions warranty because I live in alabama. And we do not have strict emissions standards. Has anyone else had to deal with this. Where toyota didn't want to take responsibly for there fuck ups. I've always been a toyota fan. But lately. It seems their making crap vechicals.

I thought the emissions thing was a federal mandate. Why would living in Alabama be an issue?

Hope you kept the original unit.

You can try cleaning the valves:

    Or, repair the motor:

Because the emissions warranty really only covers so many miles. Unless you have emissions laws similar to California. They will not warranty the issue.
