I am thinking my rig has a predisposed wiring issue. Especially with all the vids and testimonials I hear from you all!

Sounds like there was an issue to begin with. You may have sped up the process but I don't think you caused it

There is a Toyota dealership right there in SLO. Why didn't you just drive it in there and ask them what is up? If there is a wet harness problem then they have to fix it.

Because it was 930 at night when it happened the first time and the truck fixed itself. Now that I'm home, it was due for its 5k service anyway, and it died after the carwash

I noticed last night I lost a lot of throttle response and warning lights came on - too
quickly on and off to read them - when I went to hit the gas and hit both pedals by
mistake for a moment.... It did not like that one bit! Everything turned out normal
and warning light went out immediately, it was just kinda weird to lose throttle response
    for a moment.

That's the brake/throttle override. Normal! If the vehicle senses throttle input and brake inputs at the same time it'll override the throttle to make sure brakes win.

I recall a 3rd gen thread where someone showed an exposed wiring from harness near the cab/firewall. I wonder it actually induced a short at that location. I will post it if I find it.

Toyota update: corporate and the dealer tech are out of ideas.... Corporate is sending a fuel system specialist engineer guy over to help...

My lean fuel system code keeps popping up, won't go away even after Toyota replaced the MAF, o2 and plugs...so I'm interested in hearing what they say about your's.

    Update:

Called Toyota again and they still can't find the problem. I restated what happened to help them out, but nothing changed.

The fuel system seems to be OK, but now they are leaning towards evap circuit problems. The opened up the connectors and the fuel controller module and found sand, but no water protrusion.

    Should find out more tomorrow.

I feel your pain. Toyota has been looking at my truck for over a week trying to resolve a lean fuel system. One dealership even told me they couldn't help me anymore and to take it somewhere else  Guess that's what happens when you have a 3rd party warranty. Anyway...good luck with your situation, hope they are able to resolve it sooner than later.

Do silicone spray. WD-40 dries out rubber.... stay away from that when rubber is involved.

They brought in the master technician and a fuel systems specialist guy.

Still can't figure it out. He mentioned that due to the complicated fuel injection systems, new engine, and how new the truck is its difficult.

Good Heaven's I'm glad we weren't trying to figure this out in the hotel parking lot. Glad you made it home and the truck made it to the dealer. One way or another I'm sure they will get it sorted out.

Unless you are a driving fool and have surpassed the 3yr/36k miles, you still have the factory warranty first and foremost. Them giving up means you should call Toyota and say the dealer gave up "What's next?". It sounds like the dealership doesn't want factory engineers down there showing them up, but that is probably the next step (possibly at a different dealer).

Edit: Just saw you may not have a 2016.

Yeah I don't have a 3rd gen, I have an 04 with low mileage but it's well past the 3 year mark lol.

That would be a bit much imo, it still could be something very small and simple that would make all the codes go away.

Yea. Lol. I fiddled around for a while in my garage and I was able to get the TPS codes to go away but that was it.

They are tracing circuits between the front and rear evap systems now.
