I was interested in this Snugtop, but the member never got back to me:

However, read about his adventure on getting it, which is a west coast deal:

I bought a pelican fishing kayak on sale at Dicks and absolutely love it man. Not too big or too small. it all depends what your doing on it. the ol lady got another one that was also a pelican kayak and weve had no problems. Mine was originally $350-$375 and just for the yak and I got the yak, paddle and life vest for $365. wait til the yaking stuff goes on sale at dicks. well worth it

This is the rack I cut down to haul my boat while towing my camper. Originally the racks were about 8 inches taller than my roof and with my suspension lift it was way too high for easy loading/unloading so I shortened & tapped new threads into the legs. I made the rear rack lower for easier one person loading & unloading.

@DirtyTerp I can say I will eventually get a sit on top kind of like the one colin was talking about. That was is a lot more leveled for being out on the water and the seats are way more comfortable but at the time I definitely couldn't see spending upwards of 6-700 bucks

Yep that's a given. I think I'm going the higher end ones because of this frameless Windows from what I've read the frames start to leak.

Yea it looks like dicks has more sales going on than bass pro. I'm not trying to spend a crap ton just yet. What are the advantages of sit on top vs sit in? I assume more balanced?

Sit on tops are far more versatile. About the only advantage to sit in is stability, which is only a minor improvement, if any.

yes they do! we've got their 16 foot cat and love it. usually bring it on our yearly beach trip to North Carolina, but I think we're going to bring the new kayaks and paddleboards instead this year.

Hobie has a kayak booth at the Annapolis boat show each year. great time to check out all of their goodies.
