How do you like those short gears with the 2.7L and the 33's?

No, i opted to paint it myself. Its a semi gloss enamel. Good paint for that type of application.

Absolutely love em! Wouldnt have em any other way! Im at like 3k at 70/75 mph. I used to have a pickup with the 3.slow and it had 4.88 and the difference was so little it kinda pissed me off cause of the price. So this time around i knew 5.29 was gunna be the choice. Its also not my commuter so it dosent see lots of high speed interstate driving. I do it and it still handles it fine though. But i have that other red reg cab in that one pic for commuting. Also oregons highways are 55mph and the interstates are 65mph. So if youre not haulin ass the rpms stay under 3k.

After the lift and tires it was such a gutless wonder, lol. The gears totally brought life back to the ole gal!

    Count me in.

'99 extended cab here. I rescued it from the salvage yard about a year ago and did a frame swap, installed 5100 @ 1.25", franken-pack rear for 2.0", updated rack guide, dual domelight and glove box light, SPC UCA, Sonoran Steel bump stops and Toyo AT II C on Tundra TRD wheels.

Lol i love the sticker still on the tire look! Extra tread protection!! Get a few more miles outta em! Haha. I sure love that color! Wish ny trucks were that green. Just recently got a runner and it has that mica jade, that color really looks sharp imo! Especially trimmed out with black, no chrome! Hate chrome. Ive blacked out or got rid of anything chrome on my trucks. Now i gotta do it all over again with the runner...

So I went to Moab this past weekend and realized that Id like lower gears. I have a 3.4 5speed, 33s with 4:10. I could get a cheap set of 4:30, but my question is it a noticeable difference when wheeling?

4.30's are what I have, though I came from 3.92's so there was a noticeable difference... from 4.10 to 4.30... no, other than your speedo will read correctly (if you hadn't corrected it for the 33's already)

Yeah that's what I figured, guess I'll just save up for some 4:88s

4.56 would be a decent jump too... are you manual or auto (if auto go 4.88)

I'm a manual, but I was thinking 4:88s, and being over geared could be nice, and Ive considered 35s in the way off future

4.56 would put you basically back to stock 4.10/31's ratio. I think 4.88 would be a good idea since you're in CO at higher elevation. The over gearing will help out with the elevation power loss plus help carry any additional weight as well.
Check out the grimjeeper gear ratio calculator to help make your decision. It'll calculate you RPM at any given speed and gear

Any downside to being over-geared? I'm manual and wanting 4.56s but I plan on moving west and don't wanna mess with gears twice. So debating on 4.56 or 4.88

for me... 33's and 4.30's have my speedo dead on to like 65 (where it's like 2mph off) so 4.56 would be SLIGHTLY over geared...

My speedo isn't super off, only about 2mph over what the needle reads. I'm fine with normal day driving around the city. I can cruise up the divide going 65. I just feel like I need more control when wheeling, I don't like to be riding my brakes as much as I do.
