Agreed, LOTS of bailing going on.

Im exactly where you are haha.
Beginning of June. Colorado, Utah, Idaho, Washington, and so on. I've got a 3 week long trip banking on the RTT. I can go without it but I only have a 1 man ground tent so I would have to cancel flying my dad out for Fathers Day weekend, which he has already taken the days off for. This is holding up plane tickets and I am just watching them go up and up in cost.

Dang man that sounds like a sweet trip! Hopefully the RTT comes through, or you at least get a heads up soon.

Appears there's going to be a lot of disappointed people on here.

Wonder if CVT is fulfilling orders for full paying customers over discounted group buys?

Doubt it... Every customer is valuable whether paying full price or discounted... If joe shmoe pays full on the 5th and jack black pays on the 6th at a discounted price the guy who paid earlier is going to get his tent first... Thats how shit works

Yea, but using your analogy, discounted Jack Black got screwed because he was not allowed to pay until the 6th (per CVT), allowing full-paying Joe Shmoe to get ahead with payment and the tent.

Remember, CVT is using a self-determined queue in allowing group-buy purchasers to pay, while full-paying customer orders are accepted and paid immediately.

sounds like a great trip! hope you get to enjoy it with your father.
what i find confusing is you see posts where guys have dropped out of the group buy after calling cvt and placing an order

I would almost guarantee they are taking full price customers just based off of the number if guys that were originally on the group buy list that decided to just buy their tents early instead of waiting.

That shouldn't really matter though. That's just how business works. I'm sure I could go online right now and place an order and pay for it. I see no fault on CVT's end by allowing normal business to continue while organizing the group buy.

:gossip: those guys probably got the discount and most of the drop outs went and picked theirs up from CVT that dropped out because they got a tent.

I highly doubt there is any shady business going on to stall and see how many go buy at full price. There are to many people in here who know or have had personal contact with CVT and say they are good peeps.

It was stated earlier that a call was made to CVT and they had to send tents back because they weren't to CVT standards. Cant fault they one bit for not wanting to ship those out. Another post by @Cascadia Tents was about how they got tents that didn't even have annex zippers. With all the new options and the Summit series there is a lot going on on their end.

They don't have to run a group buy or even give discounts to forum members. Especially it being a no fees forum. That being said, my biggest gripe is the lack of communication lately and the fact that we have no idea whats going on. Lots of guys have plans banking on these tents including myself.

I'm out. #16 for the awning. With shipping, it's going to be too much to justify now after paying to get my tire carrier built. Gonna go with a smittybilt, they are a lot more affordable on autoanything with free shipping.

@ramonortiz55 I'm out on this one too (#91). All I wanted was an awning and condensation mat but doesn't look like I'd be getting it soon enough. Thanks for putting this together.
