I had the Hypertech speedometer calibrator installed today and I know they had the battery disconnected but maybe not for 30 minutes. Thought that would help with when I turn the traction control kicks on and anti-lock brakes kick on but it did not do the trick. I have an appointment with Toyota in the morning too run a scan to see what the issue with the airbag light is. Hope it's just something easy to reset. Also need to get an alignment because when he put the shims in the back now my steering wheel is crooked. I will not measure from Center of Hub to top of fender well, I don't think I have 28 inches but I will check.

Sorry I sent that twice! I have approximately 27 inches from Center of hub to fender in the front and 27 1/2 in the rear.

Here is a picture of my last alignment. I am going in for an alignment tomorrow so if you have any tips that I can let them know would be helpful.20160427_214648.jpg

Your alignment actually looks good, caster at 2.6/2.8

I wonder why shims would affect your steering straight line? But then again I'm not that familiar with 6" lift kits, hope you get all sorted out!

Rough Country 3inch lift, TRD wheels, LT265/70/17 BFG all terrain ko2s, 20% tint on front, 5 percent back and rear windows,
tried looking through all 125 pages, but that was a little tiring. I have a rough country 3/2 lift/leveling kit on my 16 Tacoma Sport. seems to be a vibration every few seconds. Is any one experiencing this with the same lift or maybe know what else I can do. It had spacers on top of the struts in the front, new shocks and blocks in the back and also front diff spacers. Prob my fault for not buying a higher end kit, but any guidance would be appreciated.

Sounds like it could be your front diff bearings. This is actually a common issue with both 2nd and 3rd gens once they get lifted.. Best way to fix it is to replace the bearings with some solid bushings. Hopefully someone can chime in because I can not think of the name of the company that makes the bushings.

Definitely! Got about 3" out of the dakars with about 2.5" in the front

Local Toyota dealer charged me $143.00 to tell me that the installer of my running boards probably screwed something up that's triggered my ecu for the passenger airbag /seatbelt lights, which I already knew. Said 2 codes came up. Didn't finish checking to see if I needed a new one, which is $400, and didn't try a reset! Not happy. Told me to take it back to installer or someone else to make sure wiring is correct before he did any more. Took it back, he was going to check everything over but said he knows it is right and never got to it today. I called amp, talked with a tech. He said if all is working correctly then it is wired right. Might have touched a wrong wire during install. Don't know where to go with it, but not back to that Toyota. What a rip off. Had alignment redone. Steering wheel still a tad to the right.

I'm pretty sure 885's at 0 on 5100's gives 1.75-2"s of lift in the front. I have the same setup, just haven't installed it yet, but that's what I have been reading o_O

Yeah that's what dealers do, take your money for nothing. I used to be young and stupid and paid lots of money to dealers and repair shop, but then got sick and tired of their bs runaround, all they want is your money, bunch of scum bags and liars. So I got my self TechStream and will never go to dealer again.
Where did he tapped the power wires? Could it be under the seat? Seatbelt or airbag wires? Or maybe he removed seats and forgot to connect power plugs? If I would connect them in my truck I would use add a fuse connector and tap in directly in fuse panel.

Does anyone know what the max lift would be that would still look good with stock size tires? I wasn't planning on lifting my Tacoma, so I bought stock size Duratracs (P265/65R17) not long ago. I may have some budget freeing up soon and was thinking about a 3" lift/suspension upgrade but I don't want to have to replace my tires. Opinions?

I rode around with stock tires for 3 weeks waiting on my wheels to come in. I had 5100s set at .85 with 887 coils and a hs aal in the back (approximately 3 inches) I hated it looked like crap I thought and till I put my 285/70/17s under it

It'll look really silly with stock size tires. I'm on my 4th set in 4000 miles until I found the size and type that I like. You can generally resell tires and recoup a lot of your money

Ok, y'all are confirming my fear. I may just try to stay at stock height but upgrade the suspension components. I'm not a "serious off-road" guy. I just want to be able to use my truck for whatever I feel like without worrying about squatting or trail hazards.

The problem isn't so much buying/selling another set of low mileage tires. I just don't want to spend the rest of my life dodging frying pans thrown by my wife. She didn't understand why I bought new tires after putting only 800 miles on the stock ones. I highly doubt she'll understand buying yet another set of the same tire, just slightly larger.
