Been thinking about the TRD exhaust for a while and understand it does absolutely nothing for power gains. I'm simply looking to get a slightly deeper tone for my truck. The truck rarely sees anything above 3000 rpm so it's not I'll be screaming around town like a juvenile in a Civic.

Any input is appreciated. I've considered most of the rest but I understand the TRD is the least invasive as far as cabin drone goes.

Have them on my '04 and I love it, coupled with the TRD headers she sounds sexy as hell

Yup. When I was doing test drives I actually drove an identical package truck without the TRD exhaust but I bought the one with because I preferred the sound. There's a guy I see around town with a custom built exhaust with a MagnaFlow muffler on it, and it sounds great... But I'm sure he spent a good deal more getting that done than I paid for mine

Unfortunately you can't anymore :( Not from TRD anyway, they stopped making them a few years ago. They pop up for sale on here and elsewhere from time to time though, just keep an eye out and do a search occasionally.

Exhaust ordered. With any luck it will be on my truck tomorrow. Thanks for the opinions Gents.

You'll love it, it sounds great. Definitely a subtle deeper growl, nothing obnoxious which is why I really like it.

This is why I bought it, I like subtle. When I tuned my 2012 GTI with APR Stage II tune I opted only to use an aftermarket down pipe with factory exhaust as the APR exhaust did nothing for power and it sounded like s***. I've never been a fan of aftermarket exhaust systems because most of them are obnoxious, this one seems to fit the bill though.

It's like Christmas in April around here. New SCS SR8 wheels, Dakar Leaf pack, and a TRD exhaust. :D

Hope you like it. You will get some drone when it is cruising around 2krpm. Not bad unless you have a shell, then it gets obnoxious. Doesn't seem to be an issue with the ACLB trucks, just the DCSB. Sounds nice just driving around, but I got tired of listening to it at 70mph on the freeway so I sold it an put a stock exhaust on. Both are basically identical except for the muffler (same size piping etc) and an easy swap. The TRD is maybe 1/2 the diameter of the stock muffler. As to performance, you get the feeling of more power from the sound, but actual seat of the pants I didn't notice any difference. I did get a slight mpg gain with the stock exhaust, (pulled the TRD at 1250 miles)though that may have been more from the engine getting a few miles on it...seemed to go up a tad around 5k miles. Also I was running winter gas with the TRD and summer gas soon after switching. All in all about 17.5 average since new as per my Scan Gauge regardless of exhaust.

First impression was to turn around and put the stock exhaust back on, five minutes into the drive and once it warmed up it was all good. It's pretty close to the sound I'm looking for, maybe a little quieter would make it perfect but not much. I'll have to play around with throttle position and I'm driving up Island tonight so I'll see what it's like on the highway.

All in all and for the money it's not bad. Would I buy it again, yes.

    nothing cool
You'll like it. I barely notice mine anymore. Wife rode in my truck and thought something was broken because of the drone noise. Would I buy it again? Probably. I really just wanted the TRD chrome tip.
