I'm getting close to lifting and this remains a dilemma for me. What I'm looking for is a slider that is more of a step bar. As a matter of fact I really don't need sliders at all, I don't go anywhere near rocks here in florida. I only like them because they are mounted to the frame and I like the idea of being able to use a hi-lift on one side of the truck. So far the only set I have found are the demello rock crushers. But I cant seem to find many people with pictures of them. So it's hard to tell how they look and how far they stick out. I've also considered asking CBI if thy could do something custom for me.
If any of you guys could post pictures of how well your sliders work as steps that would be pretty helpful.

www.avidoffroad.com has just what you're looking for. There's a complete section of his stuff on here somewhere, and there's a ton of pics of his sliders, too.

I had a set of the square tube (rock crushers) on my 96 tacoma. They were AWESOME for stepping. I coated the top & sides with Herculiner. I bought them used and I think the mounting tubes were cut a bit short from when they were new. I had them welded to angle iron and stitch welded to the frame.

I haven't seen any 2nd gen trucks with 'em though.

Brandon makes weld on sliders too, it's just that a lot of people don't like welding on to their frame. He should have pics of the weld on ones, too.
