    Yes.
Here's the goods. I'll be stopping at a UPS Store tomorrow to send them both to Colorado. @chenbro gets the white box which includes a programming cable. @teamhypoxia says he's already got a programming cable.

It's also worth noting, I expect to be in Littleton, CO for the week of May 23-27. As a result I "Should" be able to head to Moab with y'all for Rock Therapy. I'll know for sure tonight I think.

Looks like I'll be going to Moab!

Where do I sign up for Rock Therapy? Or do I just show up?
Please tell me I don't need "Yet Another Forum" account.

Fucking Awesome! Very cool of you to do this!

OUTSTANDING! No need to "sign up" but here's the attendance thread, so Bob and Co have an idea of how many are attending (they do a dinner Sat night, rumor is Friday night they're doing one too this year)
    https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/2016-rock-therapy-attendance.423428/
    and here's the official thread

Hell yes! We're planning on running the Rim Rock trail... don't think we've agree'd on a date yet. but I'm also trying to do a couple longer trails while I'm there... Hole in the Rock or Lockhart Basin. @odomandr add him to the PM traffic! or should we just start a thread?

So I stopped at Ham Radio Outlet on Iliff... asked what they recommend for an intro radio for off roading...

this is what he pointed me to... I "DEFINITELY NEED THIS IF I'M GOING OFF ROAD"
    http://www.amazon.com/Kenwood-TM-D710G-Amateur-Transceiver-Echolink/dp/B00JK4IHIY

LMAO... should have seen his face when I asked about the Kenwood TM-281

I think I might go with this one though...

    Yes.
I have the older version of that Kenwood the TM-D700, and it's a pretty baller radio.
The TM-281, and FT-2900 are pretty similar, just from different brands. I've got the older FT-2800 I can bring with me to Littleton at the end of May if you want to take a look. :)

I appreciate it, the guy at HRO was pushing me to go with the FT because of the 4 different power settings vs the 2 on the TM. My Birthday is Tuesday and my GF has been looking for a gift idea, and so I might drop that hint lol

    Yes.
The FT-2900 is nice also because it's fan free. Which in a vehicle isn't a huge deal, but on your desk (if you ever do such a thing.) it's quiet while operating. My FT-847's fan turns on as soon as the radio is powered.

Can you find yourself in the fcc website when searching for your frn?

    No.
I gave my ssn when I took the test as I didn't read the part about obtaining an frn.

I searched for All Colorado Ham applications submitted in the last two weeks though and neither @chenbro nor I show up.

edit: just checked and my name does show up under my frn but there's no license or application associated
