    Loud as hell URD exhaust!
Did you have the hose clamp with the special key and the washers on the cable ends where they connect to the bed?

Sorry to hear they took it.

No, I only got the standard hose clamp. I live in a quiet neighborhood. I think it's someone who cruise around from neighborhood to neighborhood looking for an opportunity.

Thanks all. Yeah, my insurance is taking care of it. Dropped the taco off today and they will call me on Monday and update me on the replacement.

You need to leave your truck with the dealer for a tailgate replacement?? Why can't they just order it and contact you when it arrives?

I would recommend doing the washer mods in combination with whatever you end up doing lock wise. It is only a torx on each side stopping them but it is one more thing at least.

No, it's through my insurance. They have a drop off center. I just leave my truck there, they give me a rental, then I pick up the truck when they are done with my truck.

Thought the same way at first, but when you add in the time and hassle of replacing a stolen tailgate and related cut wiring, it's worth the $35.

As the saying goes, an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure.

In the pick up truck capital of the world, Houston, tailgates are frequently stolen at gas stations when the customer goes inside to purchase an item or prepay for fuel.

My condolences on the tail gate. I have the hose clamp mod and cranked it down with my impact driver. On the other hand i've also got the pitbull mod as a back up.

Don't know what happened to the photos in the link above (aged out?) but it was the best locking method I'd seen.

Suspect your gate snatch was for someone with a white truck. Gets the VIN pulled off and installed, no one can prove anything. Obviously someone w/o 1/2 a brain, as the camera is easy to unplug. They left the bed mat and it looks like rail cleats? Easy $100 for all that, and another 60 seconds of effort.

Could be clueless twit kids or someone working alone who felt they were outta time. Or got spooked by someone.

Too bad folks can't just work for their own stuff.
