Not comparing the size at all. But the Tacoma is a CREW CAB style truck. I would bet 90% of current 3rd gen owners wish their backseat had just a bit more legroom. I just know that if I had the front seat adjusted where I was comfortable, an adult would be UNCOMFORTABLE in the seat behind me...

I looked at the Tundra and liked it. The reason they don't sell very well is gas mileage...plain and simple! 13/15mpg is not very desirable...

I drove one at a different store. Didn't drive the one I actually bought. As I said it was nice just had some issues that became more apparent the more it was driven...

Agree. In the same way most FS pickup owners wish they could hang u-turns and park more easily. You take the concessions based on your priorities.

Comparing a mid size truck to a full size truck is like saying you'd compare a mid size girl to a fun size girl.

Yeah, you wouldn't kick either out of bed, but between the two you have your preference.

If having to choose between the two, the latter one won't ever stand a chance.

The Tacoma never had a dog in this hunt, good day to you sir. :hattip:

As I stated, I got this new truck fever when those 2016 Tacoma commercials started on TV. I know Toyota makes quality vehicles. That was never questioned. I have no doubts that the truck I traded will be on the road another 200k miles. I just stated a couple little things might have made the difference in me keeping it....

Is everyone who complains about cabin size 7 ft tall and driving with a gangster lean? I'm 6 ft and my 10 year old who's 5'5" has no problem sitting behind me with ample space.

Thank you for the intelligent, respectful response. I was never trying to start an argument and not bashing the Tacoma in any way. Just wasn't the truck for me.

Another buzzer bites the dust, completely understand.

Fords are good trucks, still don't trust longevity of ecoboost engines in the F150's, only engine I'd get with it would be the 5.0L coyote engine, but if you don't care about keeping it for 15, 20 years, no problem.

I am thrilled to hear of how much you lost on trading in, that is great to know for if the buzzing vibration ever makes me snap....

OP, souds like you just made a honest mistake overestimating the Tacoma size. Crap happens. Not the end of the world.

I did maybe estimate that I could LIVE with it being a little smaller than I'm used to, But the other issues I mentioned are real-world problems that hundreds of folks are also complaining about. The power delivery baffles me.

Thanks for the comment. It is spot on for my experience! Why some people are getting butt-hurt over it is crazy! Have a good one!

You do realize that little 2.7L puts out way over 300hp, right? It is FAST! AND reaches full torque at only 3000rpms, which is just shy of 400pd/ft. So to put it where you can understand it...this F150 blows the doors off the Tacoma in the power department. Even being a much smaller motor in a much bigger truck! THAT is how it is working out for me, lol.

I made mention of several issues with the truck and everyone keeps keying on the size factor. Please read the entire post and then make an intelligent comment about what I said. If you compare a truck with a minivan, what I said went way over your head...

    I owned an F250. What a disaster.
But Fords are great trucks. What a paradox.
    Anyway.....
    No one thing suites everyone.
Thanks for sharing the sob story. My '16 TRD is ideal for me. I considered a Ford, a Chevy, and a GMC.
In formulas of product and suitability, the Tacoma was the ONLY choice.
Oh hell. Who am I trying to convince?
    See ya.

The current F150 is roughly 700lbs or "3 adults and one child" heavier than a Tacoma. Hard to imagine isn't it? Good on Ford for their innovation.
