I'm sure this is a popular subject, but what is everyone's opinions and experiences with the TRD catback exhaust vs magnaflow/borla etc... in relation to tone and cab noise.

    Thanks

My magnaflow is louder, that's it. After a tank of fuel, mpg has dropped almost 4 mpg. Feel / see no improvement in power.

4MPG's? Good lord. I have a magnaflow catback and I agree, no improvement in power, but I didn't lose any MPG's.

I have the TRD catback. Perfect for me. Not too loud and annoying. Deep enough. Drone isn't bad.

I installed the Borla exhaust last week on my V6 2006. Nice and quiet until you give the gas pedal some extra push. 70 mph at 2050 rpm is also very quiet.
IMO the Borla product quality is top notch compared to the rest. It comes packed in expanding foam so no chance of any damage in shipment.
I thought I might get close to the sound my 96 V6 Taco made with the TRD exhaust but it seems like the 4.0 doesn't have the ballsy sound like the 3.4 did. Still no regrets.

If I'm not mistaken, the TRD is made by Borla...don't know why I have that I'm my head...but I remember reading that somewhere.

    I heard the same thing.
The TRD exhaust I purchased for my 96 was no where near the quality of the Borla exhaust I just bought.

I have a Gibson catback exhaust on my 2005 . Combined with a TRD CAI, it sounds great and feels like I am getting some extra power at higher RPM's.
