This thing impresses me more and more every day. Uphill pulling a 6000lb Yukon and never came off idle

I would have had trouble believing that when i first got my tacoma. Now that it's broken in and running summer fuel, I definitely feel the power way more. Even after upgrading to 265/75/16 AT tires.

so much easier to drag full size trucks/SUVs into the shop with my taco than to push them by hand since our back door is up hill. It never breaks a sweat.

They're definitely hard working trucks. I had a 2014 and pulled a snowmobile, snowblower, and 4wheeler on a huge farm-equipment trailer. Wasn't smart to only use the brakes on the truck, but i drove smart, kept my distance ahead of me. Pulled no problems. Was very impressed. Also worth mentioning this was a 3hr drive through the country, up and down hills.

Edit: I was sweating bullets the whole time. Never towed before in my life, and was my first truck.

Awesome system indeed..... thanks for sharing your design. I'm not looking to dump 2K into my system but do need to improve the sound since these old ears of mine have put up with to many years of abuse. Interesting that you went with a five channel amp, been thinking about the same. Do you know how they assigned the channels, other then one used for the subwoofer? Did you use any low or high pass crossovers? As you can read I have allot to learn!

Glad to share my design! This box was built for a JL 8" Sub Woofer for a sealed box. Each Sub has its own specs of how much air space it needs. I bought the 8" Sub Woofer because it sounds great and I'm not 18 any more! If you go bigger sub, then you would need to go taller with this design. As designed. I have about 3" x 11" x 9" of storage. Works as Armrest because the lid has 3/4" padding. I added 9" of Blue LED Tape. Also added 12" under Glove Box and 12" under Steering Wheel. All wired into a factory Fog Lamp Switch I got from Toyota. So it looks all factory. I'm not a car Stereo expert at all. So I had a local shop install everything. I spent about $20 on making the box. 3 hours time. $60 for factory Toggle switch. So about $2000 for my entire system.
    Includes:

    4 - JL 6 x 9"

    2 - JL - 3" Tweeters

1 - JL - 8" Sub Woofer with Metal Grill

    3' - Blue LED Tape

1 - Factory Fog Lamp Toggle Switch

    1 - 5 - Channel Kenwood 400W Amp

1- Kenwood Processor that worked with my factory head.

2 - Dyna - Mat Sound Barrier for the doors

Ton of Misc to wire everything but the Sound Is Incredible! Enjoy!

Not 4 sure how it was all configured. I can get you the shops name & #? I know it sounds great. They had it for 2 days. I would guess labor was half? The sub made all the difference! Keep us posted on your upgrades! Cheers

Finally got my truck! 2016 MGM TRD sport 4x4 access cab. Found one about 90 miles away and jumped on it. I've put about 200 miles on and after waiting half a year to pick one of these up I've been building up a lot of expectations... but I wasn't let down.. at all! I love this thing!
