Dang!! Was hoping the Caps would've woken up a bit earlier. Oh well.....I'm still cheering for them WAY over the pens.

Pretty happy with the Draft result today. Glad the Oilers got bumped down. Now I'm just hoping they package that 4th Pick with a player or 2 - and trade it for a real hockey player. The sooner the Oilers distance themselves with Day 1 of the Draft (or a high pick), the sooner they rid themselves of the 'whipping boy' identity.

Sens likely to pick up Bruce Boudreau? Don Cherry was talking about it as if it was already a sure thing, but Im sure its more complicated than that.

 

Coyotes want one of Matthews (ant happening) and Tkachuk because both were born there, I can see them moving the pick to them for something and still getting Chychrun with the coyotes swapped picks

 

The new management with the Oilers is light years better than the old idiots, that messed things up for so long. They've been working overtime to try and undo a lot of the terrible moves. I'm hopeful that they continue that, by knowing that you simply cannot build a championship team through the Draft. I see nothing in this year's Draft that will 'save' the Oilers. Just like in years past (aside from McDavid). So hopefully they package that pick.....and get a legit D man.

 

Trading a 4th overall pick is almost always a disaster though, so who knows. I think they are a couple years from their later picks making a difference, so you never know what will happen

 

I can see a Coyotes to 4th and Oilers to 7th happening very soon. Just not sure what it would take. Maybe a 2nd and 3rd. Then Oilers could package that with Yakupov who is obviously going for something who knows. But the Coyotes will have that #4 pick

 

In my fantasy World - the Oilers package it somehow, and get Ekman-Larsson.
