Expected some rake with the OME 885, but is this normal?

I would do the work yourself next time. And NEVER bring your truck to that shop again. That's a simple task that they F'd up.

Once it's corrected I'm definitely never going back.

@OZ-T, will it really make that much difference when the mount is flipped? Does it practically rest on the top of the cup, making that 1/2 inch or so of a difference? Should I get the 10 mm spacer I linked above and have that put on for good measure?

It will make a big difference. The 885s will give you about 2.5". So your hub to fender numbers should be around 22.5 when its corrected.

It's just hard to visualize a 2.5" loss when you look at the size of the cup, lol

I just can't comprehend how the mechanic thought that made sense. Must be new. It's a shame because the shop is literally 100 feet from my work, and they only charged $450 for the install. Seemed reasonable (if done correct!)

Think about this. By flipping the coil perch, you are shortening the distance between the coil perch and the top hat. Now, the coil spring has to compress more to fit in this shorter space between the perch and the top hat (more preload). The preload on the coil spring is what gives you lift. Assuming you want 2.5" lift (which I am b/c you bought 885 coils) I wouldn't worry with buying the spacers. It has been proven by hundreds of trucks before us that on a 4x4 DC the 885s give 2.5", give or take a tad. I think you'll be pleasantly surprised.

You'd be surprised at how often that happens. The funny thing is the way your spring perches are configured, looks the exact opposite (at least visually) of the 5100 spring perches. I can't see it from the pic, but I got to imagine they have a notch in the bottom of the perch to prevent the spring from rotating. This is what you would think a mechanic would be looking for to confirm if they were mounted correctly (assuming the units don't spell it out in the cut sheet).

BTW, the carrier bearing drop kit (basically a spacer) will take a non mechanically inclined dude ~ 5 minutes to replace. Just do that yourself.

One other thing with the rake, you will have your leaf springs settle a little over time which will bring that ass end down.

If your shocks are already assembled 2 to 3 hours. Another couple hours to do an add a leaf. Depends on you having the right tools, or tools that can do it but take longer.

I think I have the same problem, but I just noticed it now. And I have more weight than you. I never took before/after measurements though. I will check my lower perches after I get off work in a few hours..

The front bumper is only 110 pounds. The rear weighs more.

This is the only side picture i have with the rear bumper, and no front. But also note, my driveway goes downhill a little.

Pretty sure 885's will only support 40-50 pounds of extra weight.
