Dealership called me and said the parts were in, and my truck would be done this morning, just got a call from dealership telling me that the springs still hadn't arrived, that only the fit kit for the springs was there, effin dumbass people at the dealership got my hopes up, I like the loaner I'm in, but I miss MY truck

Same for me, Dave. I just called and they set up an appointment to have the springs replaced. No questions.

FWIW, I did have suspension mods (AAL) and they did not affect my recall availability. The only stipulation was that they would not reinstall my AAL in the new leaf pack for liability reasons, which is understandable.

How's your alignment after? Even though I know you put your AAL back in.

It was really off (steering wheel crooked and everything) before I reinstalled my AAL. It's not so bad now that I threw the AAL back in. I'm having an alignment done this week just to be sure.

If you don't mind me asking; how long did it take from them ordering the parts to just the fit kit getting in? Trying to see how long I will have to wait. My order was put in yesterday.

Good to know. Would you say you got about the same amount of lift on the new springs compared to the old ones?

I was actually very surprised that the recall springs did not provide more lift. My front suspension is just under 2" of lift, very similar to a TRD Pro (or at least I thought). With that in mind, I was expecting the new springs to put me near level, like the TRD Pro, but I was far from level.

    Top: recall springs installed.
Bottom: after AAL installed in recall springs.

Once I put my AAL back in, it was about the same amount of total lift as I got with my old springs.

Very interesting... I was hoping to get some more rear lift with the new springs. Thanks for input. Truck still looking sharp my dude!! I'm gonna get all my stuff on as soon as I get those springs installed. I'll be sure to post the results.

Damn it. Something else to worry about. I want the new springs, but then I don't want to have to deal with another alignment being done. I just had it done when I got new tires and it's perfect. I hate to mess with it. Oh well, at least knowing about it I can talk to them when I drop it off and see if I can get them to align it.

I wouldn't worry too much. I think I saw a big difference because I went from a 2" rear lift to stock. Once I put my AAL back in, my alignment was pretty much back to normal.

Ok. Thanks. I still might bring it up. At least ask if they'll do it. Who knows, maybe I'll get lucky.

Would it be worth it for me to call the dealer and see if I can get new springs too? I don't think I got the letter, but mine seem like the cheapo 3-leaf and clup system you speak of. I have a 2011 off road.

I'd try running your Vin# through Toyota's main site or the NHSTA recall site, and see if it's affected.

I too anticipated a small amount of lift with the new springs. Turns out it was slightly lowered by about a half an inch.

That sounds very disappointing... I may just ask them to let me keep the old springs so I can have the best of both worlds lol

    That's consistent with my experience.

They let me keep my old springs. They just put them in the box that the recall springs came in and threw them in my bed.

That's good to hear. I will be asking my dealership to do that for sure...

On the other hand the ride is a bit tighter.

@Arailt Did you have to get the springs ordered or did your dealership have the parts already in stock? If ordered, how long did it take for them to come in?
